I often find that when I don't play as a Doctor or Prowler, people are actually less suspicious of me in-game, so I often go for Courtesan or Barber to catch people by surprise.

Always thief or courtesan.

The Barber is my preference. I like the Sweeney Todd look and backstory.

I try to be the Doctor whenever I can, I like the mask he wears. 
If not, I like the executioner or the thief.

I always use the priest. He seems the most evil.

The Barber because it's like playing as Sweeney Todd, and I like his kill animations.

Smuggler with the gray color scheme is my practical favorite. I've seen people confuse a prowler for me a couple of times.  
 
Visually, I like the Footpad and the Thief with the hat. As was mentioned, keep the turban off of the footpad. 

Barber, Smuggler, and Beard Beard Action Beard for now, but I'm be using the Thief and Footpad heavily when I unlock them.

the footpad, because he's the only one that looks anything like me. Also his elite gear hat does totally suck.
