Just bought this game and have a quick question before I play it. Do I need to know the story of AC:II before I play this or does the game give me the low down on what happened? I've played the first game but I haven't played the second.

Brotherhood picks up immediately after the end of 2 with literally no time lapse. It helps to have played two, but I think there is a short breakdown of the events at the beginning of Brotherhood if I remember.

You'll probably be fine if I remember correctly but why didn't you play Assassin's Creed II? It's really good, too!

I was intending the buy 2 before I played this but it was £12 while Brotherhood was £15 so therefore I thought Brotherhood was worth the money I was paying haha!

The opening to Brotherhood is seriously a "What the fuck?" moment to anyone who hasn't played 2.

AC2 is practically required to get the most out of Brotherhood, as well as not being 100% confused at the outset. Plus, PLAY ASSASSIN'S CREED 2 IT'S AMAZING.

So just before I embark upon my first playthrough of the game do you recommend that I go and look at the plot synopsis of 2? That seems to be the general consensus.

Yeah, check youtube for some video recap.

If you aren't going to play the second at least get a glimpse of of the series is.

Fun experiment time. Do not read anything about AC2's plot. Go play the first.. ten or fifteen minutes of Brotherhood.
