Assassin's Creed 2 Teaser Site Teases Italian Renaissance
I'm quite interested to see how they are going to do this one, and I still hope we get to jack fools in the back with our retractable daggers :D
Xav de Matos, over at Joystiq figured out the Webcam thing.
It reveals a 3D model of the hidden blade weapon, but he totally called out the marketing team on the hand having 5 fingers, and not 4 like the the game's folklore said the Assassin's had.
Looks like you have to castrate Vitruvian Man, hardcore. Seriously though, I think the Ninja Turtles setting sounds promising.
I read it on Destructoid and they speculated about it being in Venice. Apart from the Renaissance being an interesting setting, I'm anxious to see what new mechanics they introduce with it (hiding in the water, perhaps?). Wherever they do set it, I'm sure it'll be cool; Can't wait.
Wow that logo thing is insane. I'm half tempted to think Joystiq made that up- does a window jsut pop up on the site when you webcam-in the logo then?
They basically confirmed renaissance period in that trailer; and while Italy is looking likely, I kinda thing it would be cool if they drew parrallels between the Italian, English and French renaissance -- although the English renaissance does come later than the Italian renaissance.
Hopefully it'll be a little more interesting this time around. The first game would've been so much better if each mission wasn't the exact same. There's only so many times you can sit on a bench patiently.
Update: Oh snap!! Looks like I wasn't quick enough ^^^^^^
Hopefully the sequel won't just be a pretty game like the first. I tried so hard to like it more, but the gameplay was really weak, super easy, and extremely repetitive.
So...has anyone tried putting in the date of birth 04/15/1452? I mean, given that Da Vinci's artwork is featured predominantly on that website...and you can hand-enter a DOB at the BEGINNING of the Animus (if you hit exit experience at the bottom afterwards, you won't be able to do it)...
So happy right now, I adored the original and delighted to see it finally confirmed after those rumours it had been canned.
Altair is back baby! :D
From, a very happy gamer!
I mashed the numpad without thinking on the age verification screen and now it won't let me access the site because I'm from 2352.
I'd like to see modern-day Assassin's Creed. Then again, after forcing myself through the first game I'd rather not play any Assassin's Creed unless they make it fun to play outside of the missions. More pickpocketing? No, thank you.
It could be quite cool if set in Italy during the Renaissance, but it depends on what city really. Florence would be a cool place for the game to be set, given the nature of it's architecture.
One wrong leap in Venice could be messy. Lots of bridges and boats to crash right through.
Jeff, there's a pullout menu when you click the left side logo. Approve access to your webcam and scan the symbol into that window.
