Have any of the staff indicated whether or not they'll be reviewing the game? I know they don't review every game, even big releases, but Ryan's seemed pretty into the series and has done stuff on the past few.

I know one can get a pretty good idea of what the game is from its overall massive coverage and Giant Bomb's quicklook, but sometimes it's just nice to have a final word from a source you can trust.

Pretty sure Ryan mentioned in the Quick Look that he's currently working on the review.

It'll get posted when it's done. Ryan's XCOM review went up like a week after the game came out so i doubt they will skip posting a review.

Giantbomb is hardly Timely at the best of times, so yeah... expect it later.

To anyone having bad frame rate play it off the disc instead of harddrive seems alot smoother after uninstalling it

I was blown away by how bad this game looked in the quick look. I am no AC fan, but I was expecting this game to look better, I also was not aware that the series had gone so over the top.

I'll take inconsistent frame rate over the sound of a disc drive and longer load times. I played Skyrim in its entirety when installing lowered the texture quality making it look horrible for those same reasons. Ever since the installing feature was added that has taken precedence over any ill side effects. Plus I really havn't noticed anything too egregious frame rate wise. Glitches and bugs for sure though.

On a side note why has the GB crew been posting reviews later and later all of a sudden? Jeff briefly mentioned personally his own time was taken up more with CBSi stuff but he even had NFS Most Wanted up on release day. And Brad had to wait till retail on MoH obviously but reviewers at other sites have said they've been reviewing AC3 for awhile before release so I don't get why Ryan's isnt up yet.

In other news, the Red Dead Redemption review just went up.

@rambo604 I'm the same with every game but the AC3 frame rate went under 10 at times, had the same issue with Gita IV, plus I got px5 surround headphones so that eliminates any noise :)

Ryan probably wanted to get some multiplayer time into the game to give a thorough review.... or he hates us all and is making us wait.

When they did the live QL that was his game and he was still a few hours from finishing. Also his review writing usually produces meticulous results but takes a while.

To be fair if you don;t get a review out day 1 then those cheap page views are long gone and you might as well take your time.

I think the guys could be a little more timely with reviews, I know they're a small team and it's real busy but it seems to happen other times of the year. Oh well, I'll read it whenever he finishes it. I think he's the perfect person for it cause he's a fan of the series but has no problem saying if the game isn't worth playing.

Big Bad Ryan will give it a so-so 3 stars.

It's times like these I wonder why they run reviews. Personally I'd be satisfied if they discussed the game on the bombcast and discussed it during the Quick Look.

Jeff isn't the one reviewing it so could be a couple days.

I'm pretty sure that is why they do Quick Looks right, to take the place of the review, and if the review goes up late, you have a little preview whats in the game and some basics likes and dislikes and the people playing it. Unless the go in cold, then it is pretty much just first impressions all the way.

Ryan is reviewing it, he takes his sweat ass fucking time, just like XCOM.....probably is a good thing that he wants to be thorough....or he's lazy.....probably both

Do people really come to this site for the written reviews? For me the quick looks and podcast are generally all I need to see/hear.

Brad and Alex are typically quite timely with their reviews. Jeff and Ryan, not as much.

I know they're moving away from reviews but sometimes I lack the time or the opportunity to watch QL's. Also, I avoided the Assassin's Creed QL to avoid spoilers. Assassin's Creed was an auto purchase for me anyway because even if it's more of the same, I like that franchise, even the first game.

I feel that a full move away from written reviews though is a problem. The shift from video reviews is a bit annoying, as a really quick few minute summary is also good, however I understand that a QL gives a better indication of a game so I hope they keep it up but don't get rid of reviews.

Can't speak for the QL, considering I didn't watch it, but from playing it.. I can say that the game looks absolutely beautiful.

Everyone has already had their fill from other sources (at least I have). Ryan is a great reviewer, but I doubt that he'll provide insight that won't seem like a rehash of everything else I've read.

Anyways, I come here for other content, like quicklooks and the Giant Bomb Cast, not reviews.

I like how the review is still not out. Didn't ryan stay home one day just to play the game? Jeff needs to get his managerial shit together.
