Where was Thomas Jefferson?

Am I crazy, I thought I remember Ubisoft touting his inclusion along with George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Did I miss something. I didn't see Jefferson anywhere.

Yeah, as a lover of history, his absence, as well as John Adams' and John Hancock's, is glaring. Hopefully DLC?

Patrick Henry, James Madison, John Adams, blah blah, blah blah, and 40 other slave owning founding fathers. To be honest they're all pretty damn overrated from an innovation standpoint, the "founding fathers" are almost deified in American culture and always spoken about in hallowed tones in political contexts. None of them wielded big sticks, for instance. Ben Franklin's most significant contribution to the human race was thousands of illegitimate children. Want a competent US politician? James K. Polk

That man got things done.

was he at the signing of the Dec of Independence scene? Thought I may have seen him there. I felt like for all their touting of real historical characters like Franklin, they all ended up being cameos in the worst way. Save Sam Adams who is apparently your best friend for no apparent reason and Washington who comes off as a bumbling moron.

England or France. One of the two. He was gone for a long time trying to get money for our forces. Benjamin Franklin was gone for a long time too which makes it weird that he is so involved in this game.

@gaminghooligan: Washington was never much of a commander, just a heroic inspiring figure who just barely managed to not overreact to the Whiskey Rebellion. By American president standards he was above average I suppose, but that's mostly a general incompetence issue not anything particularly impressive he did. He's no Bobby Lee, who's no Wellington, who's no Napoleon.

@Fredchuckdave: yeah I've heard that before, I meant more in the context of his and Conner's relationship in the story though. It gets really dumb towards the end.

Jefferson is easily the most admirable of the Founding Fathers. It sucks to hear that they didn't include at least something about him.

I would suspect the other "Founding Fathers" would consider Jefferson a hipster, know-it-all, academic snob.

Who would've thought one day we'd be talking about Founding Father DLC content?

Jefferson was in France for most of the war, IIRC.

Jefferson was in France during the revolution. I would have still liked to see him there.

@ArbitraryWater: @Phatmac: @JasonR86: Wasn't that during the 1780s, when he was ambassador? I'm guessing the game takes place mostly in the 70s.

I don't remember for sure. I do know that he, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams were gone for a lot of the revolution war.

The more pressing question... can you still do in motion kills like in the E3 demo? I can't recall the tutorial ever showing you how to do this and I've never pulled it off.

Yep, Franklin and Jefferson spent a lot of time in France and Adams went from France to Holland several times. Almost died there, if I remember correctly.

Jefferson was busy impregnating slaves

Yeah, I've done them with the hidden blade, hatchet and musket, not sure if you can do them with other weapons. I just run at the dude(or walk with the hidden blade) and keep pushing forward as I hit the kill button. I've taken out an entire patrol at once by motion back stabbing them. It's not that useful but is a cool addition and can help when you are chasing a dude and an enemy is in your way.

Jefferson was in Virginia House of Delegates and Governor of Virginia during the war. He was a pretty lousy governor during the war.

Now that you mention that I realized that I have done the in motion hidden blade kill. It just didn't hit me that that was the same technique because it's essentially walking up to a dude and stabbing him. I should try it with a musket.
