    Nope I have beaten AC1 and AC2 and never played bloodlines.

    A PSP spin-off game won't help to understand the 'ending' of AC2.

    no, as long as you play the main games in the series you'll be fine. Actually, the game does a good job of recapping AC1, so you don't even have to play the first one.
