Assassin's Creed is currently 75% off on Steam as part of their 'Midweek Madness' deal.

Just thought I'd tip off some Giant Bombers who have yet to play Assassin's Creed or for anyone wanting to play the original before the sequel drops next month.

i heard stuff like that but i got it the same week it came out for PC and played through the whole thing without any issues.. same with Gears of War

The performance isn't very good no matter what you do unfortunately. Other then that it's a good port, the controls work really well with a keyboard and mouse etc.

Tell me about it. I've spent a fair chunk of change on Steam with all of their deals, but in the end it is worth it. For $60 on Steam you can get probably four or five great games (depending on any deals going on).

I never had any problems with the performance. The only thing I had to change was the anti-aliasing - besides that, I had all of the settings up to the maximum and it ran perfectly.

Well then you obviously have a more powerful PC then I do. But to put things into perspective: Apart from GTA4, this is the only other console port I've ever had trouble running. Most other (good) console ports usually run maxed out in 1920x1080p with anti-aliasing set to atleast 4x (and i get better framerates then the console versions)

Just got it, I logged on to Steam at work at saw the price. I would probably never have gotten this game, but $5? That's a burrito, and, man, I don't want the burrito that lasts 15+ hours. Heck it's probably worth $5 to just play the first couple of missions.
