Formerly known as Ocean Software and Infogrames UK. When known as Ocean Software was one of the largest developers/publishers in Europe but eventually burned out until Inforgrames bought them.
Ocean was founded in Manchester, England in 1984. While the company is more known for the licensed games and arcade conversions they developed, they made many original IPs as well. Ocean was hugely successful (mainly in Europe) up until the mid-90s, operating mainly on home computer systems; whenever the Atari ST and Amiga scene began to fade, Ocean struggled to establish themselves on the new generations of systems and were eventually bought by Infrogrames in 1998. After being bought the operating name was changed to Infogrames UK, and when Infogrames was changing everything over to it's Atari branding, changed the name to Atari UK.
