    Athena is the Greek Goddess of civilized War, Wisdom, and civilization. and the patron goddess of Athens. She is Zeus's favorite daughter and has taken part in many different games, stories and legends throughout the ages.

    Overview

    Originally born from the head of Zeus, Athena, or Pallas Athena, is the embodiment of wisdom and strength, and constantly aids mortals in their toils. She is linked to many classical myths and helped many different legendary heroes such as Odysseus and Perseus. She seems to be the goddess that is most interested in mankind's well-being and also is one of the strongest. In a number of legends, she gives gifts to mortals to aid them in their quests such as Perseus's shield, or the Pegasus to Bellerophon.

    Megami Tensei Series

    Athena has appeared off and on as a figure in the various branches of the Megami Tensei franchise. In games such as Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, and Devil Survivor 2, she appears as a goddess of the Megami race or clan. In Persona 2: Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, she is a Persona of the Justice Arcana.

    In Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 and its remakes, Athena is recast as a Persona of the Chariot arcana, and is made the ultimate Persona of the android Aigis. She also appears as Aigis's Persona in the fighting game Persona 4 Arena.

    God of War Series

    She serves as a guiding figure for Kratos during the first game. She enlists his help to prevent the destruction of Athens by Ares. She continues to help Kratos thorughout his journey until he becomes a God. Once he is a God Athena tries to stop him before he descends to Earth in order to spare him from Zeus's plan to rob him of his powers. She is later revealed to be Kratos' half-sister. She faces Kratos while he is fighting Zeus and dies in his arms, when he pierces her with the Sword of Olympus. She dissolves into dust, while Kratos laments his fate.

    Age of Mythology

    In Age of Mythology she serves as a guide and protector to the main character in the campaign mode. In normal battles she can be worshipped as a sub-goddess in the Greek civilization.

    Saint Seiya

    In Saint Seiya she resumes her role as a mortal goddess who leads the saints (bronze, silver and gold) to battle against different eneemies, but her main enemy is Hades.

    Wonder Woman

    Athena granted Wonder Woman her wisdom at birth.
