I guess there really WON'T be any more Atlus Endurance Runs...
*rimshot*
I'm sort of disappointed that the crew is against during another Atlus ER. I understand where they are coming from though.
All it means is that there will be some internal restructuring. "Atlus" is no longer a separate company, but what was known as Atlus still exists, it's just part of Index Holdings, with no official separate entity. They'll keep making games, and I'm brand will survive because it would be pretty dumb to slap "Index Holdings" on a game box. It's all just internal stuff, we won't notice any change.
As far as I know, they're keeping the name Atlus since it's quite a recognisable name so it won't be that much different. As for ERs, I couldn't care less if started one right now or never.
I think the op knew about what Jeff said, which is my guess to why he said Atlus, as oppose to persona.
Or I could be wrong.
Atlus is still alive and will still make games. This just one of those company things where they are keep their goods safe.
I'm pretty sure they will still use the Atlus name for marketing reasons, but it won't be on the Japanese stock or whatever anymore.
Never say never, but the new game is too weird in a sexual way to make for a good endurance run. For a good one, you've gotta have a good mix of fun (non-adult) humor and an interesting story. Not a lot of things fit that mold and the Persona series is one of the only ones. Even other Atlas games don't do it very well. I really hope a good, funny game flies enough under the radar this holiday to qualify for another one next year. It's gotta be something Japanese though because there's always something awesome for the very American GB staff to be totally perplexed by stuff common in Japanese culture
I don't think this will change anything for us gamers. Besides, I read that the "Atlus" logo will still remain on games produced. From what I understand this really effects the Atlus stock on the Japanese Exchange more than anything.
