    It got better than this

Bomberman has never been a good single player game, and while the Game Boy is a great platform for convenient gaming, I can't see that many people hooked this up with link cables 20 years ago playing the multiplayer mode. The gameplay is tedious and unrewarding, turning into more of a frustrating chore rather than something fun to pick up and play. The password save system is welcomed, but you still keep replaying many levels when failing just before completing a set of them.

    Pros & Cons

    + Classic Bomberman gameplay
    - More tedious than fun
    - Replaying the levels over and over turns frustrating
