    Overview

Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale is a nostalgia-themed adventure game designed by Kaz Ayabe as part of Level 5's Guild anthology series for the Nintendo 3DS. Millennium Kitchen, the developer behind the Boku no Natsuyasumi series, created the title and Level 5 published the game as a 3DS eShop exclusive in Japan on March 13, 2013 and in the West on July 18, 2013. The game takes place in 1970's Japan where a young boy named Sohta has just moved to the town of Fuji no Hana where monsters appear every Friday to battle an Ultraman-like hero. Players take upon the role of Sohta who, along with his newfound friends, attempt to solve the mystery behind the monsters.

    Gameplay

The gameplay of the main game is similar to that of a Point and Click adventure game in that the main game progresses by players talking to a particular characters to progress the story and perform various fetch quests along the way. These take the form of "episodes" within the game which serve to break the game into its main story beats.

Aside from this there is an optional battling, card game within the game in which players can challenge and battle against other children in the town.
