Auto-aiming (or Auto-targeting) allows for a character to attack or interact with an object or enemy that's very near to the player or within their field of vision.

The Recurring Types of Auto-Aiming

Reticule Magnetism

When the player points the reticule near an enemy, it automatically pulls towards the enemy, closing the aim:fire ratio gap.

Lock-on

The player uses an input method to trigger a lock-on; the reticule automatically shifts to the nearest enemy and often allows the user to aim at specific parts of the target.
