Achievements

Achievements are extra challenges added into video games that sometimes carry a point value or unlock bonus material, and are sometimes solely for bragging rights.

Drifting is a technique used in motorsports that involves intentionally over-steering the car to create a slide. This is done both as a competitive and exhibitive technique.

Endurance Racing

Endurance racing is racing a track for very long periods of time. An example of endurance racing in video games would be the 24 hour Le Mans in GRID.

Experience Points are part of a character advancement system commonly found in RPGs. These points are generally gained by defeating an enemy or completing a task.

Off-Road Racing

There are games where you can go off the track and it's no longer a road, or maybe take a shortcut through some gravel on the side of a course. This isn't what this is about. This is about games where the track is off road, if there even is a track and the terrain is usually rather rough and something you are racing against.

Open World

Non-linear level design where the player is able to freely traverse the game world and choose where and when to visit certain areas in the game.
