Ballance was developed by Cyparade, published by Atari and first released in Europe on April 2nd 2004. Two years later, on October 25th 2006, it was released in the US. You control a wooden ball and have to maneuver through and obstacle course with in a set time. Along the way there are 2 kinds of pick ups to find: One gives you an extra ball (life), and one gives you extra time. Your score at the end of the level is based on the time you have left when you finish.. Your ball can also transform into a rock- or crumbled up paper ball. The rock ball is heavier, which allows it to easily push boxes out of the way, or tip over bridges. Because of its weight, it' makes it more difficult to get up inclines and trying to cross a bridge made of planks will break it, causing you to fall to your death and lose a life. The paper ball has a rougher shape than the wood and rock balls, so it's tougher to control. It's extremely light, so pushing bridges or boxes is virtually impossible. The main advantage to the paper ball is that it can float up to higher levels when it passes over a fan. There are also some parts that force you to stick horizontally to 2 rails, the paper ball is the only ball that is light enough to accomplish this.
