I recently finished Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, and it was awesome. I've owned it for quite a while now and I have no idea why I've just now gotten around to beating it. I still have a ton I can go back and complete though too. But anyways It got me thinking about where the series may go from here.
There's basically three options:
- Take the next game back to the roots of the series and make it a platformer
- Continue with the Nuts & Bolts style and expand further on the user generated content stuff
- Go in an entirely new direction (Banjo first-person shooter? :P)
I was never a huge fan of the first two Banjo games, and I never really played much of them. I think that was mostly because they were seemingly generic platformers. Having witnessed the Mario Galaxy era of platformers now though, I can see a return to platforming maybe working depending on how it's done. I think Rare is creative enough to take the series in another direction entirely though and be successful. But all the while, the awesomeness of Nuts & Bolts and it's fantastic approach to user generated content keeps running through my head. How awesome would it be if Rare took another stab at that, and were able to make it bigger and better?
Where do you guys want to see the series go?
