Hey guys, quick question: I only played Banjo-Kazooie once at a friend's house back in the day, and I've never played Banjo-Tooie or Nuts and Bolts. If this game holds no real nostalgia for me, is it still worth picking up on XBLA twelve years later?

If you like platforming collect-a-thons with a nice artstyle and some funny dialogue then, yes, yes you should

Nuts and Bolts is a different animal altogether but is still one of the most fun experiences I've had on my xbox

    Ehhhh, no.

Buy Nuts and Bolts instead. It's like $20 now and is a much different game (and better in my opinion) than the other two.

Maybe not. I thought the original was alright and I never played Tooie either and Nuts and Bolts for me was a dull game. Without the nostalgia these kind of purchases rarely work out, I don't think its the kind of game that holds up that well over twelve years without the nostalgia factor.

It's not very good at 1200 MSP. It's still a decent 3D platformer, but it's pretty simple by today's standards.

I enjoyed my time with it, despite playing and beating the N64 version as well, but that was because I got it for free when someone was giving away pre-order codes to download the game (right here on Giant Bomb, in fact).

If you've never played it before, for 1200 MSP, i'd say wait for a price drop. I bought got it for free with Nuts and Bolts, and I bought Tooie, but I love the series, so there's definite nostalgia factor there. Just getting into it now, you wont have that love.

I totally say it's worth it, but I also question the credibility of the guy with the Mumbo Jumbo avatar. He may be biased.

It might be the nostalgia talking, but I do remember loving the game at the time. There was something different and unique about it's presentation and atmosphere. Not sure if it comes through as well today, mind.

Im gonna go ahead and say that if you didn't play em' in the day then the first two might be completely lost on you but for sure get nuts and bolts. Its dirt cheap now and great fun.
