However, nothing in my collection is exciting, and I really want to try this out. So, should I throw down fifteen bills and play the fuckin' shit out of this?
Also, "try the demo" does not compute. BUY OR NO BUY.
GO.

Bastion is a story about a Kid, his hammer, and a world gone all kinds of wrong.
I have no desire to get this.
You DO have a desire to get this, because you "want to try it out".
Buy it, best money you'll spend in a long while. The multiplayer is great, the guns are awesome and it had a better-than-CoD prestige system. The multiplayer maps are slim pickings for the moment, but they'll undoubtably add more in the promised free-DLC. A lot of people are playing so it's easy to get a game. However, noobs are at a disadvantage, because an All-Critical Machete Build is basically unstoppable for a newer player. +40% crit chance, +200% crit chance, plus 50% faster attack speed, with spirits on top of that, you crit more often than you don't, and you dice everything. Combine it with whatever upgrades you want for the pistols (obviously straight shooting is a must) and you'll pwn every noob on the server.
The good thing is the singleplayer campaign only lasts for 6 hours or so each play, so you can level your kid quickly and catch up with the powergamers who dominate the multiplayer rankings.
My k/d ratio is 55:7
Try it. If you don't like the demo, don't force yourself to pay 15 bucks for it. I didn't like it, but there was charm to it I liked, but I'm not gonna take the dive and buy it.
Buy it, for people worried about the story its pretty good and the setting becomes surprisingly deep as time goes on.
I'm having a good time with it. My favourite bit is the combat. It's tight, fair, and feels like they're handing me challenges, not fodder.
I say buy. Especially if that's the only way you're gonna give it a go. It's worth $15.
If there's one negative I can point out, it's the way it handles failed weapon challenges. It suffers because it prioritizes presentation over just letting you get back to it. But that is really only a warning to the impatient (which I can be at points).
It's getting great reviews almost everywhere, but Giant Bomb is the last place to look for a fair assessment of the game.Especially since they didn't even review it.
Try the demo first. I've been looking forward to it but should have tried it before I bought it. The combat just really isn't very good and while the game looks good, I don't buy games because they are "pretty."

There's a multiplayer? Or are you kidding?
Either way, this game is very good. Buy it.
