Personally I hate the peckers the most with some of the idols turned on, I'm talking about the big ones not the little ones that swarm. They attack so damn fast in multiple attacks. I forgot what they're called but I also hate those triceratops looking things that are armored in the front that jump around.

Bastion is a story about a Kid, his hammer, and a world gone all kinds of wrong.
What enemy did you hate the most?
I also hated the peckers but I found the little ones more annoying with the martyrdom idol on. I played through the game with four idols and the most annoying enemies were the peckers (big and small).
I'm doing a 10 idol run right now and those peckers are pricks.

Oh and much love for Hotel Dusk recognition.
Louis DeNonno approves.
Eh. The combat system is still too amorphous for me to gauge which enemies are real pains in the ass, but basically any time there are more than four enemies on screen, I just can't control the pace of the game.
Those big scumbags are dickheads when you've got a swarm of other enemies to worry about.
When your weapons aren't upgraded: those armored frogs
When your weapons are upgraded and you were crazy enough to turn on 10 idols: those damn (big) peckers (as everyone else already pointed out^^). you can't block them really and you can't take them out quickly enough. they WILL hit you ... hard.

Just make an effort to learn the timing to counter the big peckers. They are really easy once you learn that. Also, you can block them, I'm not sure what you mean.
The eyeballs. I went through with all idols activated using the musket + pike, and although the pike could kill the eyeballs (pro tip: the pike pierces through armour, so it can kill the lunkheads and eyeballs by punching through their defences and hitting their weaker spots) they were still really annoying, especially when you came across their nests in the last 2 levels. I actually took the mortar for the second last level just to clear them out easier.
Every time I tried, I didn't work. Most times, there were other enemies bothering me as well, so I couldn't really focus on them anyway but I always had enough health potions with me. :)@DeF said:

Biggest pain so far has been the teleporting Ura in the third Who Knows Where. Sure the frog guys and the eye things are bad, but when you have 3-4 Ura shooting you and teleporting all over the place, that's a royal pain in the ass.
