Baten Kaitos is a turn base RPG for the Game Cube. Its combat system puts an interesting twist on traditional gameplay, but an uninteresting story, and a voice cast that is so bad you will want to play the game on mute keeps this game from soaring. The combat in Baten Kaitos is quite fun, it’s a card based system which works very well. All you pokemon fanatics from yester years will enjoy spending hours organizing your decks upon decks of cards and exploring the world looking for even more powe...
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean is an RPG published by Namco Bandai for the Gamecube. The main thing that differentiates this game from other RPGs is the card system. The game revolves around the use of cards called magnus. Magnus capture the essences of real life items. A magnus of an apple will heal you but after a certain amount of time passes on your save file the apple may become a rotten apple which may have a 60% chance of poison. Baten Kaitos for the Nintendo Gamecube is a great new addition to Namco’s list of quality RPGs. With a compelling storyline, in depth character development, and a story line that will leave you satisfied, Baten Kaitos is perfect for any RPG fan looking for that certain satisfaction.Baten Kaitos follows Kalas, a young mysterious character who is apparently out for revenge. At the start of the game you take the role of Kalas’ Guardian Spirit and throughout the game Kalas and his friends speak dire...
Baten Kaitos is one of those games where the flaws are amplified by greatness in other areas, making them seem glaring and unacceptable by contrast. It's become a signature feature of Monlith Software's RPG output that their games can reach heights genre contemporaries like Tales Of or Dragon Quest could never hope to achieve, but never consistently. For all that this game achieves in combat mechanics, beautiful places to explore, and music it is equally deficient in storytelling, level design, ...
