IGN gave it a 9.3, calling it "The best comic book game of all time." However, given the universal distrust this community seems to have about IGN, I don't know if that means much.

i havn't seen a single review that was under a 9.0

@Everyones_A_Critic: It has a 91 on MetaCritic with only a few reviews under 90 and none lower than 80. I don't think Eidos has enough money to pay off all of those people, so I'm pretty confident that the game must be good. Plus a lot of the smaller outlets that Eidos wouldn't bother to bribe are posting positive reviews as well.

I think the demo spoke volumes as to what the game really is like on a gameplay level and what we can expect in story and characterisation as well. The game, in my humble opinion, does seem very much like this years BioShock. Everyone is pumped for it for varying reasons and it does seem like a large quantity of effort was put into making this not just a great comic book related game but also just a great game in general.

With the Batman license, something close to many hearts and many bank accounts, there is always the worry of a cheap licensed game created to cash in on the brand name only. This game doesn't seem to be going that route one bit, rather it seems to be really striving to get a solid performance for players as well as Batman fans.

And so far the reviews seem to be portraying this, even in light of the controversy over Eidos's requests.
