"Kotaku's Michael McWhertor is in L.A. for tonight's video game awards, where Mark Hamill told him he was asked to do a trailer for a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum."
"Update: Looks like that game has been announced."
"That really didn't take long. The show opened with the announcement of Batman: Arkham Asylum 2. A url for the game: Arkhamhasmoved.com was given."

Credit to Kotaku for the news.

I was hoping for a sequel to Arkham Asylum, as it is currently my Game of the Year. Whilst I suspect that the sequel will take place in Gotham City rather than The Asylum, I look forward to seeing what the devs at Rocksteday have planned for my favourite Dark Knight. Oh and please, Batmobile?

Additional Thoughts: It seems that the link from the teaser site, doesn't shed anything new on the project. Though I presume that something will be announced at the VGA awards.

Additional Thoughts: Since the link from the teaser site isn't currently working, here is a YouTube video of the new trailer!

Great news. I'd love to see all that gameplay in a bigger city environment.

I hope they call it something other than "Arkham Asylum 2." Something like... "Batman: Better Subtitle..."

Yeah, I can't really think of anything, But then again, that's not my job.

I'm sure they will. I can't think of any either, but I know that one will pop into my head soon.

After getting and playing a fair bit of Batman: Arkham Asylum, all I can say is that I hope the next game is a lot less gamey. It started off so well and now I'm up to Poison Ivy, I'm getting incredibly bored.

I found that the bosses were the weakest part of the game, and that everything else was fantastic, the voice acting especially.

I actually didn't like this game. Don't get me wrong I thought the presentation was fantastic, but I just wasn't feeling the actual game part.

The more I think about AA, the more I think it has to be my GOTY.

I agree, but this sums up my feelings almost perfectly.

Just watched the VGA's and at the very beginning it teases a new Batman game......all I can say is YES! Loved AA, and judging by the teaser trailer the new game takes place in Gotham.
    Can't wait.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion dude and as much as I loved Arkham Asylum, I can see your point.

A sequel to the GOTY. Very well deserved, and I can't wait to see what Rocksteady comes up with this time. Paul Dini is back on board for the writing, so you know the story will be excellent, too.

The thing I really liked about the original was that they were able to combine an open world game with a linear game very succesfully. So I wonder how they would translate that into a (potentially) bigger and more open world and still make it feel as thight as the original.
