Batman: Arkham Asylum puts you behind the cowl of the iconic Dark Knight, fighting his way through Arkham Asylum to stop the Joker from enacting a sinister plot that would have grave consequences for Gotham City.
Best moments in Batman? (SPOILERS(obviously))
Also I didn't know that Bruce met Jim when Bruce was young.
This is my 1sd place GOTY. I don't own a PS3 but I doubt that Uncharted 2 has the Perfect Tone and Atmosphere which Batman has.
P.S. I don't know what's better, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition or Batman: Arkham Asylum Both were released in 2009.
The third scarecrow moment . . .
I was a honest WTF moment for me, games don't usually do that to me

Yeah that was brilliant loads of people went to reset their consoles or PC because that were scared that their machines had crashed." @addictedtopinescent said:

Yup. Definitely thought something was wrong with the disc or my xbox. The whole game was awesome." The third scarecrow moment . . .

" "I will break you, Batman!" "No, Bane. This time... I break YOU!" SMASH! "omg
then the thing after credits where bane climbs out of the water on a box full of titan
And yeah, I freaked out pretty bad lol
" @yeahno said:It just really sucked for me when they were all "H-HEY I GOT YOUR BACK!" I am utterly TERRIBLE at being stealthy, and being so afraid that they felt like they should stick together made me frustrated." Scaring all the thugs. "yeah then they get really jumpy and start shooting at anything lol "
" The third scarecrow moment . . .yeah that was some good shit.

" The third scarecrow moment . . .Yeah, I thought something was wrong with the game at first. I was so confused.

First room where you try to save the hostages by stalking all the guards. I set up three explosives (one on the roof of a room, another on a floor, and the last one on the wall). I then went on top of a gargoyle where one of the guards was standing right next to hostages. When the other three guards were in the right position, I made all the explosive blow up (the roof and the wall knocked out the two guards while the other guard fell through the floor), and at the same time, I did the inverted takedown on the other guard. Bam, just like that, I cleared the whole room in a second. It was a pretty bad-ass moment for me.

...and not just "In Batman" but one of the better ones in videogames period.

"I was very good at taking opportunities to do silent kills of all kinds but Explosions never worked for me because they would walk of so the blast radius would be nowhere near the crimminals.
All of my favorite moments of the story have already been mentioned, but I really really enjoyed all of the patient interview tapes. It just made the antagonists seem more static and interesting when you confronted them.
oh man the one where!!!" All of my favorite moments of the story have already been mentioned, but I really really enjoyed all of the patient interview tapes. It just made the antagonists seem more static and interesting when you confronted them. "
then Amadeus Arkham's best line 'I watched... as the guards beat him into a stain in the floor.'
" The third scarecrow moment . . .Out of curiosity, did your game screen static up for a second during that moment? Mine did and I thought there might've been something wrong with my comp.

I'm a huge Batman fan, so the best part for me was wandering around all of Arkham Asylum and seeing all the references to the comics in the game. Did you guys catch the Ras Al'Ghul cameo?
I got giddy about it, personally. I think my favorite parts about the scarecrow moments was way more subtle than anyone else has mentioned. Every time I saw Batman cough a little, I smiled a little because I knew I was about to see Scarecrow. Right before the second one, Batman starts coughing RIGHT before he opens the door.
For me, another extremely awesome part of the game was learning Hush didn't exist yet within the games continuity. I have to wonder if Tommy Elliott will make an appearance in AA2. That would be a crazy wild card to just throw into the games current plot.

I almost corrupted my save file!

I think the best part about this game, and the reason why it was my GOTY, was the extreme, unyielding attention to detail. It totally drew me in.
The scarecrow moments would be the best, but they always froze on me. Did anyone else have these issues?
Also, being a comic book fan, it was really enjoyable to see an extended cast of characters all interacting in one way or another, and even just catching references to characters who weren't actually present in the game.

I just bought it this week during the Steam sale, and this game could very much end up being my favorite of the year.
The whole game was pretty good.

" The whole game was pretty good.Yeah, I kinda feel the same way. It reminded me of Bioshock: great, but then the last 10 minutes were pretty bad.
"The ending was... cliche, and sequel giveaway. + the last boss was gay.

"Killer Croc, not Bane
That TV static in the third fear toxin sequence was brilliant for a couple of reason the most impressive of which is how they manage to make it appear to be real, actual technical error and not some in-game effect that you have seen a hundred times before. The real test was that I played the game again on the hardest difficulty and again I fell for it and thought my PC was overheating or something and expected to see smoke coming out of the case (which has happened to me before since I first built my own PC). You can imagine how smart I felt after I came to my senses the second time. I'm not sure how they do it but the volume and picture and contrast just tells you that these are real technical issues on an instinctual basis, even though they are not.
My favorite cheesy Batman moment was the line that in the end that goes something like SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content.
