Dude, forget Robin. How about Alfred as your co-op partner? YEAH! Now that would be totally freaking cool.

robin co op mode in sequel
As long as they don't use that really gay color scheme for Robin. It looks just straight up retarded.
" That would be gay. Nightwing or Robin, sidekicks are retarded. On that note, let me say, Nightwing is a stupid thing to have done, and could the writers have come up with a stupider name for his city? Bludhaven? Seriously? I rest my case. "You win the award for most socially unacceptable and intolerant post in this thread. Congratulations.

So it's just another third person shooter? No thanks. "" The sequel needs this Batman:

Here are all of Batman's friends. Take your pick:
" heh maybe im just too used to gamefaqs, where all out flame attacks are all too common. i just figure theres so much robin hate the response would have been WUT!? SCREW U!!! forgive me still getting used to how things work here. "You do not deserve hate for suggesting Robin co-op. You deserve hate for making a misleading thread title. >:|
The only way co-op could really work and feel right was if the two characters were equals. In terms of what Batman does no one is his equal, not even his own students. The only character I could see working wouldn't fit into the universe Rocksteady has built. In DC Comics there is an alternate universe where everything is the same except everyone's genders are reversed. This Batwoman has identical DNA to Bruce and the exact same skill set. This is the only character I feel would be acceptable, yet it wouldn't fit with the context of the game.
" No co-op or Robin are necessary. The game's atmosphere would partially be spoiled by co-op, don't need that at all. Also, Robin is almost never good. "Agree, what made batman great was the atmosphere of you being alone with the odds against you.
I'm not sure how I feel about the idea of co-op in the main story. It could provide something new in terms of gameplay but it seems like it'd be kinda damaging for the atmosphere of the game which is a strong point of Arkham Asylum. As for the actual co-op character I am of the school of thought that Robin a bit... Well, lame. If they're going to use any characters to fight alongside Batman then I think the only real contenders are Batgirl or Catwoman.
I think it'd challenge rooms where you could select from a load of characters would be cool.
That way you could unlock new characters for solving riddles / finding teeth etc.
Keeping that in the challenge rooms would preserve the feel Rocksteady's going for in the main story, although personally I'd like to be able to choose in the story too.
AND, they'd be able to add some humour. I'd love to play as 60's camp batman or alfred ^-^
I love Robin but the game felt better when you are all alone in an insane aylum. It would be like adding co-op to Dead Space or Bioshock, it would take away that feeling of atmosphere a little bit when you have some kid yelling into your mic while you are playing.
I'm surprised no one here has said it yet: co-op with The mother-effing Joker. Maybe they're both pit against an even bigger enemy: HELICOPTERS.
@Burns098356GX:
Zurr en Arrh Batman would be better, and would still only really need a palette swap.EDIT: Also what's up with the huge Robin hatred? It's 50 years since that show (you know the one I mean), it's almost 30 years since Dick Grayson, that's not what Robin is anymore (not to mention the current Robin is Bruce Wayne's son, Bruce Wayne is dead and Dick Grayson is Batman)
@onimonkii: not any more, Babs is still in wheelchair, but Stephanie Brown is Batgirl now (current Batgirl is kinda sucky though)
