I don't much care which. Here's what's going down:
 
Arguments for buying:

1. Mega-cheap after Amazon coupon and my ECA 10% off ($43 total)
2. Demo is pretty cool
3. Getting some good buzz

1. I already have more games than I could reasonably play even with six months off from work
2. I don't really have the money (although I could rob it from my PAX spending money)
3. Rumors of the Eidos review scandal have me wondering if maybe the game actually sucks but the demo doesn't show enough for me to know that

You don't really have the money, then don't buy it.

Yeah, if you don't have the money, why would you buy it?

I'm in the same boat.  I'll buy it if the Metascore is like 88+ or something, but otherwise I'll wait until I get birthday money in October or the price drops.  There are enough quality downloadable titles on PSN and 360 to tide me over for now.

Don't buy things you can't afford. Wait a while, catch up on the games you have, and by the time you're ready to get to it, it'll probably be $20-30 new.

I guess the question is whether or not I need $200-300 to spend on the floor at PAX. If I need every bit of that, I don't have the money. If I don't need that much (or any), then I have extra money.
 
Unfortunately, I have never been to PAX or any expo for that matter. I don't know if I need that much or not.
 
Edit: I should clarify this is the question of whether or not I have the money, but the question of whether or not I get the game is not necessarily contingent upon this.

I'm cautiously optimistic about it, but I'm waiting.
 
Like you, money isn't necessarily the issue, but rather just sheer free time. I dunno if I could cram another game into my lineup, and I've put some seriously long games on hold for too long (Persona 4...)
 
I also take this chance to express my simultaneous envy and joy that you're getting to go to PAX

Wait. If you have enough games already, it will still be there later on down the road at a lesser price, when you have more money. My guess is, that by that time there'll be a new shiny game you'll want more. Rent it, if you must. If you need to own it after that, then go out and buy it.

Wait for Borderlands! before deciding thats what i'm doing.

dont believe the scandal, just a rumor, I'd say go with it, GI said it was this years bioshock, Id say thats damn good buzz

save your $ we still got MW2 and brutal legend coming

You could always just rent it.

You could wait until after you get back from PAX and see if you have any extra money. Personally, I'm going to wait until it drops in price.
