More Harley Quinn Coming to Batman: Arkham City

@darkvare: I just wonder why they went that way. Everything else in the Arkham game, design wise, is spot on for the universe they created. Harley Quinn's design just feel out of place. She just looks like Hot Topic puked all over her.
Spoilers for this DLC bro, who do you think she wants revenge on? Not Batman, Hot Topic!

The announcement of the DLC comes side-by-side with the announcement of a Batman: Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition, which will hit stores in North America on May 29, and the UK September 7. The GOTY edition packs in all of the previous DLC--which included a wide variety of Batman skins, Nightwing and Robin packs, the Catwoman story pack, and a whole bunch of challenge maps--as well as this new Harley Quinn campaign.
Oh! I still have Arkham Asylum lying around almost untouched, but this sounds like a serious motivation for me to get Arkham City anyways... dang, too many games, too little me ._.
@TheWholeDamnShow: Her current look in the comics is horrible in every possible way. They have removed everything that made Harely Harely. I don't like the AA or AC looks either much either, BUT the AC look at least feels more "Harely" than the comics. That thing in the comics isn't Harely anymore, it's some hooker bitch pretending to be her drawn solely because Jim Lee is fucking idiot that believes every woman in comics has to look like a whore.
Is the DLC coming to PC?! Even if it is, I kind of vowed to never give Rocksteady or WB another cent after the mess they made with the PC version of Batman: AC. I lost three saves, one being 98% completion. I had 6 achievements never come up when they should. I then waited how ever many months (felt like a year) for them to finally release a patch, which did not fix my disappeared saves and only three of the six achievements came up. For such a great game, what a nightmare the PC version is. My advice, stay away from it. Get it on 360 or PS3.

I really did not dig the Fetish Wear/Emo/Goth look they gave her in the "Arkham" games. I like better the twisted menacing harlequin look.
That look got old. They even deleted that look in the comics.
Well that's comics. Someone no less iconic a figure as BATMAN has had more than a dozen major designs, not all of them winners. More to the point, she's not even really a comic character. She came straight from the animated series and was so obvious and compelling a character they brought her on into the comics...and then gave her a horrible redesign.

Ditto. I thought she got the worst makeover out of all the characters. Catwoman looked great as did Poison Ivy, staying mostly true to their original costumes. No idea why they suddenly had to go "balls out" with the sexy look on Harley. I really loved her animated series jester outfit.

So, worst box art ever. Or WORST box art EVER?
To me it looks like some game called "Game Of The Year Edition: 10 out of 10" With Batman Arkham City bonus content.
Totally. Jesus Christ. That could actually be a decent cover, too, it it wasn't plastered in letters.

The hell is up with the 4 month UK delay?! And no PC version?
Sure, severely limit your audience why don't you, sounds like a really sound marketing tactic....
11 months after the game was released jeez, Things like this will propably make me watch the dlc stuff on youtube instead of buying it..
The only reason i can think of is localization for whatever european contries that dub their games.. If thats why then I'm pissed they can't just release the non localized version for the majority that want that..
Isn't a uk studio making this anyways?!
EDIT: I thought the dlc was also gonna be released september in uk/europe, seems thats only for the GOTY edition, YAY

Frankly I think it for sex appeal. Catwomen, and Poison Ivy always had that sex appeal as both are based on ideas of sexuality. Harley never really had that appeal to her character and for some reason they though to change that.
On the other hand, I do appreciate that Rocksteady acknowledge that change by making Herley outright tell Batman if he likes her new outfit.

It'll be interesting to see if this provides some proper set up for a sequel.
I kind of thought that the next game could pretty easily be all of Gotham in chaos as Harley rampages through the city after the Joker's death and other characters introduced in the side missions (like Hush and Azrael) playing a role in that story. But that's just me.
I've thought Batman: Gotham City was the whole reason they went with Arkham City to bridge between Arkham Asylum.
Oh man, I can't wait to buy Game of the Year Edition: 10 Out of 10: Batman: Arkham City: 5 Out of 5 One of the Greatest Games Ever Made. Period.
Already gave this game the middle finger due to that day day one single player online-pass crap they did.
Anytime a trailer uses "Own the complete..." it feels like a marketing slap in the face. Because according to the lawyers and publishers we don't own it. "License the complete" just doesn't have the right amount of puffery.

Someone buys this game now and gets all the DLC for the same price I paid... That's just wrong.
No. The value of games drop. Playing the game last fall is your reward for being an early adopter. If you didn't care about when you played it, there would be no reason to preorder it. I just ordered Mortal Kombat brand new for $30. Netherrealm still gets their slice, I get my online pass, and Amazon reduces their inventory by two games because I can afford to buy something else at $30.

Yeah you're right. Her new look makes me wonder why she's carrying a hammer when a pole would work better for her. I am not freaked out or feel sorry for her but now I feel that I need a stack of 50's.
If that's the look that you dig then more power to you bro. I for one do not like it. Not one bit.
Well Harley was never someone to take very seriously in the first place. I don't mind the slutty look because its JUST Harley. Riddler looked like a green hipster and Robin looked like an ex-gang member. I find these redesigns more fitting to complain about than Harley's look.

Again... Harley is just Harley. If anything her whore makeover gave her the opportunity to expand her character. Sort of like what happened to Starfire. It Grew her a little bit. Gave her some depth. All she was before the relaunch was an occasional punching bag for Joker and a wild card to team up with all the other Gotham whores (Catwoman, Ivy)

Yeah, but not that major of a change. Even his new Metal look has classic elements.... If you show a complete stranger who knows nothing about Batman or his rogue gallery i'm willing to bet that they won't be able to recognize new Harley from old Harley. It's too major of a change to just brush it off. And even though her first appearance was in the animated series, she became more famous through the comics and there gathered more fans. Her redesign I think anyways, was completely necessary. The relaunch aimed for a more realistic approach and old school Harley wouldn't have fit the status quo.
@TheWholeDamnShow: Ugh Starfire. I like Red Hood and the Outlaws, but I miss the old Kory. That said there are some elements of the new one I do like. However unlike Kory, Harely has never needed to show a lot of skin to be sexy. I will admit I haven't read Suicide Squad though since the entire look of it turns me off. I simply can not get past the look of the characters. I simply can't stand fan service for the sole purpose of fan service, it is always an instant turn off.

I understand what you are saying... fan service sucks. It's like the writers and creators warp everything to please the fans instead of being a little brave their stuff. It's stupid but I get it I guess... Hey.. At least Power Girl lost her boob window. That thing was just.... wow.
@TheWholeDamnShow: Harley got more fans from the comics? If you mean in total, then obviously, the more places a character shows up the more awareness of that character is engendered, but given comic sales numbers vs TV show viewership I'm going to say more people became fans of Harley from the various Timm animated series than from her comic appearances.
And a redesign is fine. Like I said, Batman's been redesigned every 5 years at least. For an unpowered not that physically exceptional normal, Harley's outfit is definitely NOT a more realistic approach.

And Rocksteady's an English developer too... Tsch, even when it's bleedin' developed over here, we're still left with a stupidly long delay.
And this has been happening a lot lately as well. The MGS HD collection, Silent Hill Downpour, Tales of Graces F, Catherine and many more over the past year have all suffered a massive space in between its US and Euro release dates. I know that the localisation has to cover multiple languages... but c'mon, we're talking up to 5 months.
@Abyssfull: I'm pretty sure the biggest reasoning for this is the multiple languages that version of the game has to support.

...did you even read my post? I said I know it's down to localisation, and again we're sometimes talking up to 5 months. And besides plenty of games are released within the same week in the majority of Europe regardless of additional language localisations anyway. The language barrier excuse is a poor one and it doesn't excuse how often these delays keep cropping up.
