If anything they would release a collection of 1 and 2, but no. Both of those games look fine and run great on PC. Which is more than you can say for the latest entry, apparently.

I think at one point when I had way more free time to play video games, I could see replaying a game that I've already finished. But now it's just not likely. I want to keep up with current releases as much as possible while also playing some older games that I never got around to playing. I always think of these rereleases as a good way for people who never bought the game in the first place to get it and play it for the first time. For example, I'll probably play the FF7 remake since I never played that in the first place.

HD remakes of games that were already in HD are the most self evidently pointless thing.

Only if serious work was done on it. Between it being a PC game and the likelihood of it making the Xbox One backwards compatibility list, I don't see much of a point in a slightly prettier version. I'd want redone art (like Halo Anniversary), maybe some retooled gameplay, and a bunch of cool extras (e.g.: commentary, documentaries, maybe some weird pack-ins like the NES Batman game or something). Go big or go home with it.

Like, seriously, a lot of big franchises have taken heat for years for only bringing in incremental change between each iteration and not taking any risks, but in hindsight at least back then people weren't rereleasing LITERALLY THE SAME GAME and at least took the risk of MAKING A DIFFERENT GAME.

No, it was a good game for the time but a lot of the design flaws have been fixed and it'll be tough to go back.

If they re-released Asylum and City on PS4, I would buy them again. Already finished them on PS3, replayed Asylum on PC and started City again on PC. I am part of the problem.

Nah. Wouldn't be different enough. I enjoyed roaming around the asylum a fair bit, but it didn't have the lasting power of a Dracula's castle or Zebes.

I wouldn't be in any hurry to play it, but if I eventually get rid of my ps3, and the first three games came bundled together, I'd pick it up at some point. I've enjoyed all the Arkham games, but having the new one out now, I'm in no real hurry to go back to the others.

I recently played it again on PC, I would say it holds up pretty good. I don't really think it needs a remake.

Does Arkham Asylum need a HD remake? Graphically it's still looks really good. Do you mean mechanically? As in incorporate the gameplay mechanics from Arkham Knight to Arkham Asylum?

If you're referring to a re-release of all the Arkham games on current-gen consoles, then yes. But a remake? Not really.

HD Remake? I played the "vanilla" game a week ago, and still looks great.

You know it was made in HD to begin with so you can't really do a "HD Remake" of it. It would just be a straight up remake and I don't think many people would actually be down for it.... even if I felt it was easily the best game in the series.
