This is a Anime Fans dream come true, But not a fighting game fan

This game had great potential, But it lacks so much. I'll start with the good.

    Graphics 9/10
The graphics are very good. They use the cell shading pretty well. The characters look like there Anime Counter parts. I have no complaints here.

    Sound 7/10
The sound in the game is pretty good. Not the best but ok it gets the job done. The background music is not that noticeable but the voices are pretty cool. They use the original Japanese voice actors for this game that where in the anime's (This is what I"ve been informed I apologize for any mis information) The sound effects are pretty good also. Kakashi's chidori sounds almost like the anime. The only thing I dislike about the sound is the announcers voice. It really is kinda annoying in the game, but he only speaks when you begin a battle and announces the names and when you are in the main menu he tells you what every option is.

    Story N/A
I cannot tell you about this games story. It does have a "story" Mode but it isn't an actually story. I think its just random characters from the shonen jump world all mixed in together trying to see who is best or having fun... I"m not quite sure.

    Gameplay: 5/10
This games gameplay is not bad, but it isn't the best game ever either. Many people will compare it to Super Smash Bros. Melee at this part in the review. I will not. I will only mention SSBM so you gamers can have an idea of how this game plays.

Basicly it has the same basic idea of SSBM. 4 Characters duke it out and there's only one winner. If you have played SSBM's coin mode then you have a very good idea of how this game plays. Basically the more you hit someone the more red orbs a charecter drops. If its a basic melee attack he will only drop little orbs. The stronger the attack the bigger the orb is. Theres a meter on top of the screen the more orbs you collect the bigger your meter fills once you have 3/4 of the meter all you yourself you will go into burst mode. In this mode your attacks will hit harder and take away more damage. The bad part about that burst mode is that a character can easily reverse it (reversed attack) and it might turn the tables around. This can be either fun or annoying. But it is a nice part of the game.

The major thing I dislike about this game is how you unlock characters and the physics. The way you unlock charecters in this game really sucks. You start off with 12 of them and need to play slots to unlock them. Luckily the more you play the better the odds are. During "story" Mode you have to complete little goals and get coins to use them in the slots. It is rather boring and frustrating. Just press the O alot until you coins run out and hope for the best. Thank God they are only 8 of them. If they where more it would be really horrible.

The physics of the game. It isn't that good. DBZ and Naruto Characters and fly/jump high, But in this game they jump like an inch of the ground. There a stage in this game where you have to jump up and down Similar to the Ice Climbers stage in SSBM. But you almost always end up falling out of the ring cuz they didn't jump high enough, something I think should have been bettered. And some characters got the short end of the stick with the combos (Zoro can barely pull them off)

    Replayability 10/10
This being a party game you might wanna play it with your friends that enjoy anime and wanna see who is better in a battle. It is a great party game for anime fans. But it fails if you are looking for a great game for a fighting game fan. Also what racks up the score on this is the fact that you have to complete story mode so many times to unlock the characters. But after you are done you might not play it for a while unless you have friends over. Same goes for SSBM I only play that when I have friends over.

To buy or not to buy?
Well considering this is an import only game I don't think you would wanna pay $65+shipping for a mediocre game. Unless you are a big fan of anime and already have Swap Magic/Mod-chip. In witch case sure go ahead. If not and you own a DS then buy Jump Super Stars. Has the same basic idea of this game with tons of more characters and much better gameplay. And its onl $50 plus shipping.
