    I just bought BF 2142 pretty cheap at my local used games store, I went to install and it wouldn't let me register because the code included in my game has already been used with someone elses account. Is there anything I can do or have I just spent £5 on a game I can't play?

    So yeah, I get it i'm stupid. 
     
    I phoned EA support and in 7 minutes I had a new code. Great service and all in all only a slight inconvenience.

    nice.  I had trouble inputting codes into the battlefield veteran site, and in 30 minutes I was talking with an EA dude in live chat, and 5 minutes later everything was solved.
