I feel like I'm always fighting Russians or playing as Russians lately. 

I found the 3 factions in BF2 to be dumb, since it was more or less USA vs Everyone else. The Chinese and Arab forces never fought each other.

Sure they could have gone for a completely new faction, but I don't care that much. Just hope there will be faction specific weapons this time, unlike BC2.

i wanted to see Australia vs Canada :(

Well a Russian person is constantly thinking about how they can take over the world because they have nothing else to do......
 
 
But thankfully America is there to defend everything that is wholesome and good on earth, a crusader for justice that can never do wrong.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an expansion coming along, adding either the Chinese or Arabs, or both.

Unless they were making game modes with more than two teams in them at the same time it's pointless.

The idea of needing three factions is pointless. There's no need to make the game feel like it has a bigger context because the multiplayer isn't bounded in any story. Also, just saying that it's good for variety's sake just makes it a waste of time for DICE. Adding a few more weapons or vehicles wouldn't add anything, unless that 3rd faction had items that didn't conform to the standards of the other two (which would only happen if they seriously deviate from reality, which people would just complain about). 
 
Also, the biggest issue here is that they're (probably) going to drop the character designs from BC2 which were really great. The designs had way more character than the generic soldiers BF (and every other game) has used. Game needs more arm socks and orange visors.

I can understand why they choose the Russians vs US again , they want to have 2 factions with equal military capability in the multiplayer.

or insurgents of some sort ? I am pretty sure they were bad guys.

@withateethuh: What I meant was that they both have the same types of assests (helicopters , planes, tanks. artillery).

I don't see how more than two factions would really matter in a game like this. It's not like people are pledging to a certain faction much like in Planetside. In reality, 3 factions just mean 3 different skins for characters, nothing more.

I really wanted to drive a Challenger 2. :(

They should have also added Orcs, Aliens, Zombies and Pirates. :(
