They seem to always give away my position and it's so hard to use during a gun fight. I think the flashlight blinds your enemies way more anyways, so I wouldn't use it for that.

    They do look badass though.

Am I missing something here? Do you find them useful?

They make firing from the hip way more accurate. Turn it on and off, the cross hairs move.

while they do help hip firing and occasionally blind somebody I find that it isn't worth giving away my position for it.

On Guns like the Mp7, the laser sight makes hip fire accurate enough that you rarely need to aim down the sights. They're best for PDWs and up close weapons where it doesn't really matter if the enemy sees you a bit easier.

It's okay for close-range maps where you'll frequently be fighting in close quarters, but in any outdoor/karkand maps the lazer will just give your position away...

Yea...I hate it when I'm attacking on rush and one of my teammates gives our position away because they didn't turn it off.

The Laser Sight is one of my favorite attachments. It tightens your crosshairs and makes hip firing noticeably more accurate. It also helps me when my crosshair randomly disappears, a bug that I've been encountering a lot lately.

I find that every attachment under the "laser sight" category is practically useless except for very specific situations. For instance, the only time you should ever use a flashlight (provided your not just being a dick) is in the two or three situations in all the maps when you'll find yourself in a tunnel.

Mostly useless - it's only any good if you are caught off guard and don't have time to aim down the sights, but usually that occurs at close-quarters where the laser sight is not needed as hip-firing is accurate enough when the enemy is standing almost next to you - and if they enemy is not standing next to you, why even bother with hip-firing? Plus, the laser sight can give you away. I've killed quite a few players who tried to hid behind a corner - except that I knew they were there because I could see the laser sight, so I threw a grenade and killed them.

The only time the laser sight has ever been useful has been with shotguns since you generally don't bring up the sights when using them.

Yeah mostly useless. Especially the alternatives are so much better. At close range there is no disadvantage to the suppressor. I suck at the part of the game were you actually shoot at people with ya little peashooter. So I rely on sneaking up on people.

If you ask me what's the thing I hate facing the most in an opponent, it's the laser sight, because it turns my screen red and doesn't give away the guy's position which is a great advantage to him.

So no I think it's very subtle but very lethal.

10 percent is a huge increase if you take into account the average accuracy by someone is 9 percent.

Not my first choice but not a bad accessory. I mostly use 'em when I haven't unlocked anything else. I keep 'em turned off when I can to keep 'em out of the eyes of my squadmates. It's not as annoying as a flashlight but it's definitely distracting. I'd have to break a few years of muscle memory habit to not aim down the sight all the time so the hip-firing perk doesn't benefit me all that much.

I use them in CQC maps. I just wish there was a way to default turn them off when you spawn, because I only flick mine one when I open fire on an enemy.

I keep switching between the laser and suppressor. Wish I could use both since I have an empty slot for not using any scopes, but I understand that might unbalance things.

It's pretty useful for me. It is supposed to increase accuracy when firing from the hip, so it is great for close combat. If you're worried about giving away your position, you can always turn it off.

I use it a lot with weapons on the Engineer class (SMGs and compact rifles). They help a lot with hip-firing and controlling the spread of weapons that have a high rate of fire. For a lot of purposes, they aren't terribly helpful. But on weapons like the A-91 and QBZ, they can provide a lot of extra help.

I just want to add like others have said before that you can blind your own team using this shit, so if you're going to use it at all, you need to keep your micro on it.

It's only useful in very tight quarters, and only gives away your positon in my experience. Let alone blinding your teammates, which is what happens too frequently. Silly carryover from the sp anyway, as it doesn't add anything to mp that isn't cheap. Flashlights are the same for the most part. They don't help you see; they are only for blinding opponents, which is mostly unrealistic anyway, especially at the common distance that you face off w/an enemy in this game.

I think that incessant demands for DICE to mitigate this issue - especially in the larger outdoor maps (Caspian and Kharg come to mind) - says volumes about the problems associated with this feature. It's a very effective device on Metro and Damavand, but I find a suppressor to be far more useful.

I think if you micromanage the hell out of it and turn it on and off a lot it can be a nice thing to have , but it's too much for me at the level of play I am at to be switching it on and off all the time so I don't give away where I am.

Wait, they actually reduce spread and it's not just a placebo effect from the graphical changes? It's already pretty damn easy to get headshots firing from the hip with a lot of weapons without one if you have a good sense of where the center of the screen is. I'll have to do some experimentation since I've never used one. The aspect of giving away your position with what I thought was no mathematical advantage always seemed wasteful to me.

I have had decent success with it on my G35. I like doing CQC, so a stout gun with good from the hip accuracy is handy. The dazzle gets the job done sometimes, but really it's all about the ability to start hitting him before I pull up the sights from moderate range. That extra half a second of burst is what keeps me alive.

I know i get annoyed by the dazzle so I sometimes use it for that effect. Wont use the tactical cause the gives away your position waaay too easily, at least with the laser I can point it at the ground or to the side and not give away my position.

I use it ... turn it off instantly then use it when I know i'm going to get attacked up close and want to fire from the him without having to reply on my scope for accuracy. You lose half a second aiming down some scopes, so that extra bit of hip firing accuracy is worth it for me.
