I am the dumbest person to ever walk the earth.
When living at a YMCA apartment making $100 every two weeks, I kept buying cigarettes and pawn shop DVDs, and fast food instead of groceries, so your stupid decision is Einsteinian compared to mine. :P (to be fair, I was off my meds and in the deepest depression of my life, so smart spending was second to trying to make myself feel good through escapism, eating, and nicotine... unfortunately, my spending also meant I couldn't pay my rent, so my new home was an alley within two months)
Not to be advocating getting yourself into horrible debt and ruining your life..
but if you don't have the cash now and you absolutely HAVE to play the game why not just buy it with a credit card and pay it off when your paycheck comes in? Is it going to be too much of a slippery slope?
I've always done that in the past and just paid off my CC dues when the paycheck came in but honestly haven't been in a situation where one game would break the bank in a while.
No bud your OK I've spent money and something I realized I hated withing a day like buying the collectors edition of DC Universe online for the PS3 because the Batman statue was cool. Hell I tried to play the game and wanted it to be good but it failed to meet all of my expectations.
You're only human (I assume) Don't worry about it, unless you die from starvation. That would kind of suck.
Dude I REGULARLY sacrificed my food budget for games back in 2001. Pro tip: Buy a sack of rice; It costs like practically nothing. Learn to prepare and cook Basmati rice (fuuuuck Jasmine, which is most common in Norway). That sack will last you weeks. Then you just vary it up with a little veggies, like cherry tomatoes, or if you're really in a bind, straight up ketchup all over the place. DON'T go the ramen route. In Norway, obviously, everything is expensive, and ramen is too little bang for your buck. Another pro tip, if you're not lactose intolerant, a glass of milk will kill hunger. When I was trying to sleep on an empty stomach milk saved the day every time.
Do your shopping at immigrant shops too. Dead cheap rice and veggies trumps most of the typical frozen pizza alternatives. You can stock up on 500kr and make it through the month just fine; You won't be able to carry all the food you can get for that money.
Third pro tip; Mooch off parents and friends ;-)
I kinda thank games for teaching me how to cook at this point; I got REAL stingy with my money when I had little of it, considering I was trying to sustain a gaming hobby as well.
@Prodstep: Well as long as rent has been paid, 130 bucks should definitely last for a few weeks in terms of food and gas. Depending on how far your place of work is from your home, and if you have a girlfriend with expensive tastes :P
