I grabbed this from a story on planet battlefield

EA sent out a four page Battlefield 3 multiplayer fact sheet, which has a list of all the weapons, weapon accessories, solider equipment, solider specializations, vehicles and vehicle specializations. The fact sheet also says there will be 9 multiplayer maps. The only two revealed right now are Caspian Border and Operation Métro.

There's a lot to get psyched about.

That's a lot of guns. Fact sheet needs a collection of images to go with the list of guns.

Yes.  That is a list of many guns I like very much.  Just wish Assault had a Scar-L or Scar-H.

If all those accessories are real and not just stuffing, that's awesome. What's with squad perks, I assume they're more beneficial if everyone on your squad coordinates who has which perks?

9 maps at launch. That's not including 'Back to Karkand' I assume. Which brings it up to a total of 13 maps out of the box. Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.

If you pre-ordered. Otherwise the Karkand pack is $15 DLC.

Yeah - 4 BF2 maps and some extra weapons and vehicles. Similar to BF:BC 2 Vietnam.

Nope. The entire first print of BF3 will include a code within the box, not just pre-orders. Seeing how I can still buy Limited Editions of Medal of Honor and Battlefield : Bad Company 2 if I want to, I suspect everyone who gets BF3 new will get the Karkand expansion for free. It's just second hand buyers who'll ever have to shell out for it, if they want it.

Check out the official Battlefield Blog. There was a clarification for those unsure about the whole pre-order deals.

I can guarantuee you that every Limited Edition of BF3 has a voucher for 'Back to Karkand' in the box. 100% certain about it.

Quote from the official BF Blog:

    Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand
What it is: An entire themed expansion pack the size of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam.
Where to get: You will be eligible to download this expansion pack (once it is released) if you pre-order Battlefield 3: Limited Edition at Origin or at any retailer all over the world.
Available: The release date of Back to Karkand is not yet announced. This expansion pack is not on the disc and is not available on the launch date of the base game. Everyone (pre-orderers and those who buy it separately) will be able to start playing Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand at the same date.
Cost: At no extra charge with every pre-order of Battlefield 3: Limited Edition. You will be able to buy it separately for $14,99 if you don't pre-order (release date not yet announced).

It says preorder of... but it reads - every Limited Edition will have a voucher for it within the box. I remember having it seen clarified on twitter too. Since I've preordered, I'm getting it free either way.

the B2K pack is not a day 1 release.
On day 1 we get 9 maps only (9 maps x ~5 modes = shit ton of maps), and we'll get B2K as DLC (just like BC2 Vietnam) a few months later.
But i'm positive that between the game launch and the B2K launch we will get a minor map pack

Back to Karkand (B2K) = the four classic maps + MEC faction (just like the Vietcong were added with Vietnam) + 5 bf2 vehicles + 5 bf2 weapons (since most of bf2's weapons are already in bf3)

Nope, you have to pre-order the limited edition to get the B2K pack for free (+ one pre-order bonus of your choice). From the blog you linked:

Back to Karkand will be in every limited edition copy of Battlefield 3 like every other EA game from the past 2-4 years. I don't recall them ever mentioning a new faction being included or how many weapons and vehicles there would be. I also read once on an EA website they were shooting for release a month after launch of the main game, but I don't remember where now. I doubt they would put out DLC before it, but you can be sure there will be more after. Also I don't think they ever announced a price of $15.

Well some are going to have similar stats to balance both sides. Like the AK74 and the M16. It may not be realistic but for gameplay purposes its necessary.

Nope go pick a copy RO1 for the PC and make sure you download the mod Darkest Hour from the store (it's free btw) and then make sure you get a server early because there are 2 or 3 slots for the motar. Hope thats help you nad btw the game is ten dollars on steam and if pruchase it you a 20% discount on RO2 which comes out on the 13th of September. Also it a WW2 game similar to the conquest BF1942 and the realism of ARMA.

@withateethuh: AK74 and M16 handled differently and had different accuracy in the alpha.

@Seppli: RUS and US had different weapons in the alpha, also the weapon progression was different for each faction.

There's, I think, a general consensus that the vehicle armor regen is not effective enough for it to be a problem. Also vehicles reach a damage point where an engineer is required for them to recover

Same as Medal of Honor; though max rank players got access to the other faction's guns. LIkely they'll do the same for BF3.
