    Battlefield: Bad Company 2

    Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.

    PS3 owners should be able to get the new patch for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Thursday June 3rd at around 5:00pm Eastern. You should also note that the servers will be down for maintenance before the patch is released.
     
    The patch fixes a few bugs, but most importantly your M1 Garand and Thompson kills will now be properly recorded, allowing you to get the pins associated with those weapons. (Like the pin for getting a bronze star for all weapons) 
     
    Here are all of the changes: 
     

    • Kit images added in spawn menu  
    • Fixed the "required rank" field on the unlock items specified on the W&G page  
    • Added M14, NS 2000 and G3 in-game unlock pop-up when the requirements for unlocking them are reached  
    • Added a server side check of the veteran status of the players  
    • Award bugfix for "Win all 4 game modes" (it had marksman headshot as a dependency)  
    • Garand did not track anything, Thompson tracked Garand.  
    • Increased the penalty points for TeamKill and TeamDamage  
    • Increased the reward points for Objective Actions (Flag Cap/Assist, Arm/Disarm/Destroy/Damage/TeamDestroy/TeamDamage)  
    • Fixed veteran rank number not showing up in ingame scoreboard  
    • The southpaw setting now works for the anti-air gun and the Stationary AT 
    • Collectible weapon messages fixed    
     
    The Xbox 360 update is supposedly "in the works" and is due in "the very near future".

    Finally I can get my last bronze star ! 
    That is what made me take a break from the game in the first place, not being able to hunt Insignia.

    They actually have been holding onto the PC patch for over a month the promised date now, a long time before the strike atm. The strike just happened at an opportune time.

    A few weeks ago they said they submitted the patch to Microsoft (For the spectact dlc achievements), only to announce that this time they really did submit it.

    I wish they'd just release a fix for the knife alone (and shotgun slugs as well since they were both messed up after the same patch). I don't really get the reasoning behind leaving the core gameplay broken for over a month to bundle that fix into a huge patch with some less significant fixes, since this isn't the console version. I guess I've been spoiled by Valve all these years. Starting to get sick of all these lies and paying for a beta game.

    The patch is for the effin win. Several stealth fixes made it in too.

    POINTS AFTER DEATH COUNT PROPERLY!  
     
    btw. PS3 patch was 288 MB. Heard the title update limit for 360 is 4 MB. Wonder how that will pan out.
