I cannot get enough dog tags in multiplayer. I don't know what it is, but if I see someone nearby, I will risk my life to go knife him and get his dog tags.  I'm rank 3 and have 50 dog tags.  Not much, but I'm working my way up.  Who else loves these, and how many do you have?

I only have 22 at the moment, but yeah its great building up the collection lol. Its very satisfying to get that knife kill and I hate it when I get knifed lol.

lol i can't speak for BFBC2 but i had a massive dog tag addiction in BF2142. i had about a thousand before i eventually quit that game for stealing my life.

i absolutely love getting those dog tags!  it's actually the achievement that i'm most proud of when the stats show up after a match hehe!  i don't get a lot of dog tags per match, but when i get at least one for a match, i'm happy hehe!

Dog tags are amazing. I love looking at them too see if I've knifed anyone more than once.

Dogtags are awesome. At the moment I have 220 and the top dude on the list I knifed 5 times. :D However the majority of the dog tags transferred from the demo. In the full game I have only aquired 49. :p

I had a awesome game the other day where I got 38 kills 30 of those were with the knife.

i mainly knife when i need to or when someone has their back to me and i still have a lot lol

I know how you feel. I just risk my life to get the dog tag even though its pretty much futile; since someone for some odd reason always turn their back at the right time and kill me, or some random douchebag sniper takes me out. =/

I only go for knife kills if my opponent is having a moment of blatant awareness fail, or if I have empty clips in every single gun I'm carrying in a CQC situation (which happens far too often).

I do not share this obsession.

I only knife out of necessity, or if I find someone on the UAV.

Just wondering, do the dogtags collected in BC1 carry over? I suspect they do, because there's no way I've already knifed 70 people (I knife maybe 1 person every 4 games).

I came up behind basically the entire team planting a bomb and knifed every one of them...what a glorious time that was.

I haven't checked how many I've gotten in awhile, but I'm very proud of my "SouljaBoy" dog tag. :D

Me and my mates have an obsession with getting each others' Dog Tags. If I get one of theirs they will stop at nothing and sneak around the whole map not shooting anyone in fear of giving away their position to get me. It makes for pretty hilarious group chat. Love the game.

It's just bad how much I gotta have them...I'd die maybe half as often as I do if I didn't try to get those damn tags.  Usually I wait until the match is about half over and then I go around the outskirts of the map and start knifing any snipers that might be camping on a hill or in the bushes.  Sometimes though, I get spotted and instead of shooting I pull a Patrick Bateman and just fucking charge in there with my knife.  I tend to get gunned down when that happens though lol.

I find it EXTREMELY hard to stab people. The stabbing motion is so slow that if you're on any amount of lag will leave you animating out in the open and likely to be shot. Unless I know the enemy won't move for 1-2 full seconds I'll shoot to kill.

rank 3 and 50 dog-tags??? I have over 1,000 kills but only like 60... you must really like dog-tags. "frothing" seems like a pretty good word to use for you.

don't have a ton, still trying to get some stats up, i will probably resort to playing games with all knife kills, or various other gimmicks i can come up with to try and make things interesting down the road :P
 
the knife kills are the most savage and disrespectful kills in the game and yes.... that's why we all love them.

I go for a knife kill only when its a sure thing. Even thing I prefer to just spray them in the back.

Question what do the people on PC use to knife?
The middle mouse button is not working out too great for me, it's simply too much time to move your index finger from the firing button, by then you are knifed in return.

I find it so hard to knife, I often have a stab perfectly lined up and then some shit happens like the dude crouching, leaving me stuck with the animation hitting the air. I've got something like 5 or 10 tags this far at rank 2. I mostly snipe though so I don't really get many opportunities.

Yeah I like the idea that the knife isn't just an 0.01 second instant kill in any direction, but there are times I've gone for an OBVIOUS knife, only to be knifed in return somehow.

heh i suffer from the dog tag syndrome it usually results in me getting shot in the face as i get tunnel vision when i see someone with their back to me unawares im there then bang his mate sees me and i dont see him and it usually results in me getting clipped

I knifed three guys in a row the other day, and the last one had silver dog tags.  Three medics had my squad pinned down, 2 were firing and one was healing.  I flank them while my squad draws their attention.  Knife the healer as he turns to face me, then put it in the back of both of the other guys necks as they continue to shoot, unaware of my presence. 
 
I've knifed a lot of dudes online in my days, but this particular instance was special.    

Right now I have 232 total dog tags. No bragging you just asked. 

I love sneaking up behind some Wookies camped in a bush, especially if they have Silvers, I'm still keeping my eye out for a Gold. It's pretty soul crushing when you think you have a guy for sure then someone spawns on him and blows you away.

What determines the color of the tags, their rank?
