Yeah I know this has probably been made before but wtf is with the shotgun range in this game? I keep getting killed out of nowhere and when I see the person who killed me they are standing atleast 50 feet away from wherever I was. How does this occur?

The 12. Slugs/Shotgun/Whatever it's called specialization dramatically increases the range of shotguns.

Yeah i think those are the 12 Gauge Sabot rounds, sacrifices power for range.

Its too bad that they still seem pretty damn powerful. Like its not that bad every once in a while but the other day it was like 6 people on the same team with shotguns doing that shit.

I don't remember the first game having that issue but this is probably the same thing. Though I only noticed it a few months in.

@Djeffers03: They decreased the range a bit, but you can still shoot incredibly far.

@withateethuh: The first game didn't have specializations, so the shotguns only shot at their specified range.

To be fair the range on them isnt that crazy. Modern shotguns with the use of sabot slugs can easily be effective at ranges up to 100m. Anyway I love shotgun sniping in bc2, especially beating normal snipers in sniper battles with a shotgun now that is funny!

If you cant beat them join them, trust me its fun.

@Djeffers03: I've been recon with a 12x scope and been outsniped by a shotgunner. Needless to say, it was a little embarrassing.

@JimmyTheExploder:  But considering that gameplay wise thats also the effective range of a lot of the assault rifles and smgs, its really sorta bullshit.

@JimmyTheExploder: Unfortunately, I can't join them. I don't have the sabot slugs unlocked yet.

@withateethuh:  Yer totally get where your coming from, although as a shotgun sniper myself I do know an easy counter. I have found that I cannot shotgun snipe well unless I stand still when I take the shot. So if you use assault rifles or smgs, just keep strafing whilst firing and you'll probably win.

Yeah, the shotgun range is ridiculous. I remember toying around with that before they somewhat patched it. It infuriates people.

Also, keep in mind that the really powerful shotguns have very small magazines and a long reload to cock it. If they miss that first time and you see them they're usually done.
