Would anyone be interested in a Giant Bomb community tournament?

#1 Posted by Jayross (2365 posts) -

I'm trying to gauge the interest level for a GB community tournament, similar to what they are doing for Starcraft II.

For obvious reasons the tournament will take place after the release of Map Pack 7, or the Vietnam expansion.

The structure would depend on how many participants there are, but we will most likely base it around Squad Rush (teams of four).

Also, I can confirm that there will be prizes!

So if you are interested in doing something like this next month, please just post here saying so.

Thanks!

Id be interested but the following things are a factor.

I have it on PC.
I kind of suck at the game ( although I find it enjoyable)
I'm probably not the best teamate to have around ( i don't TK, just slow down)

Either then that it would be fun.

If you want to schedule it after Christmas than yes! Because that's when I'm finally getting a new 360 to replace my broken one.

If it were on 360, I guarantee that me and my three buddies would roll four deep and annihilate any tournament.  That's not bragging - that's a fact.

As for PC, I refuse to play an inferior version of the game.  If it was straight-up Battlefield 2, it'd be a different story.

Due to the cross-platform of BC2, we will have to pick a platform for the first tournament.

xbox 360

I am leaning towards the Xbox 360, as that is the platform I can most-easily officiate and organize; it can also serve a trial for the other platforms.

We are still on the low-gear, and should pick up pace sometime after December 10th.

I might do this, Xbox 360

I would join but I need to know on what region will the server be in? Cause if its too far from Asia I might not be able to make it. I play on PC and my in-game name is the same as my user name. Add me if ever.

yes indeed, PC

PC version.  ( with dedicated server )

Problem still remains of what region and time zone are we talking about?

cause you otherwise end up with lag for certain people.

I'm down for a PS3 tournament after you test this out on the 360 run.

@jakob187:  what is the problem with the PC version? DX11? mouse and keyboard? possibility to use a flight stick to control the helis?

i hate gaming on PC but lulz if you think the console version is better.

If you're doing something on PS3, I might be able to make it work for me.

Could we somehow structure it so we can have Australian/New Zealand and then U.S. separate?

I'd be down for this, I'm on PC.
