I really want to go for that dogtag collecting achievment, but I really don't know when a good time to pull out my knife is.

So basically what I'm asking is... any good knife strategies?

    First off....Raw Rock? That you?

Knife kills are pretty on par with COD4, but a little tougher as you don't "lunge" or autotarget with the knife. There is also a little more of a delay when you pull it out.

Most of my knife kills come from flanking an tapping defenders on their shoulder before ramming my Swiss army through their eye...

Ya he put it simply. Its a tad harder then cod. I have found as well that sometimes on my screen it looks like I hit the guy, but I don't get the kill. I guess its just lag.

Camping out by a crate on defense is also another good way. Wait for someone to come try and arm a charge and then receive tags of the dog.

I found it hard at first, but now that I'm used to it, knife kills becomes damn easy. If someone gets close, dont shoot, just pull your knife out. 9/10 times you'll win. Well, as long as its not a demolition class.

Like, in a building or something, keep a lookout through the windows. Once you see someone coming just run out and stab them.  I'm always specialist and I guess there is an advantage to that. You're always flanking (or you should be). Flanking a defending team from behind easily grants you 2-3 knife kills.

It's easy if you're close enough and they don't see you.

It's not too hard. What is really fun is to sneak up behind someone as a specialist and plant C4 by their heels. Back away about 20 yards, get their attention, and flip the switch.

    Good times...
