    Battlefield Bad Company

I'm sure you've seen this trailer, seen game play footage, or heard about it one way or another. If you haven't then which rock have you been under? Battlefield Bad Company is the very first game to introduce a single player campaign. This may be one of the most compelling feature this game holds, as the Battlefield games were always strictly a multi-player based game with large forces; so it makes sense that hearing about a single player story in a Battlefield game has you already wondering " I wonder how they made it work " or maybe " Is it worth playing through ? "

When this game was first announced the most introduced feature of this game would have been that this is the first game that uses the new Frostbite engine that makes almost everything in the game destructible. From cars, to walls, to roofs, to bridges and even the ground everything has the potential to be obliterated. Another very satisfying aspect of the game which I loved personally were the characters. Not much detail was given at first, obviously, but you would of gotten a little tingly feeling that the characters in this game would be unique in their own lovable way.

So the single player. You pick it up, slap it into your Xbox 360 and watch it run. Being the first Battlefield game to ever have a story you're most likely going to want to go through that first. Well, you start off as being introduced to your character, Preston Marlowe, just transferred into the ruggid Bad Company a.k.a B Company. Private Terrence Sweetwater, an intelligent, analytical soldier who, largely, is afraid of fighting and serves as the for Private George Gordon Haggard Jr, a.k.a "Haggard". Haggard is the comic, in-your-face soldier whose love of fire and explosions made him pursue a military career, and not but not least the Sarge, Sergeant Samuel D Redford, unlike everyone else in this Company he volunteered to join, in hopes of leaving his service early.

Introductions aside the game plays the same as every generic, modern time first-person shooter. You see an enemy, line him up in your ironsights, fire, he falls, move on. Simple as that. The game has you run through the basic run and gun with the occasional " blow that up " objectives. The most satisfying part of the single player is probably the other squad members, although they're also a negative factor as well but I'll get into that later, the squad members different personalities have the game and its plot much more enojoyable. Although, the most annoying factor I had about this game was that, even as the new guy, I had to lead my squad to every objective. This had me going " Why do I even have a commanding officer??? " Well I guess it's just to piss you off and thank you, you did just that.

Although the story which is lack-luster is saved, as well as the whole game, by the multiplayer. Yes, it only has one gametype but this games multiplayer is so much with the different classes, the different abilities each class possess and how each class can turn the tide of the war. The multiplayers only game type is a usual "Defenders vs Attackers " ordeal. The defenders need to save the gold crates in their bases from the attackers while the attackers try to retrieve them, before thier reinforcements run out. Although it's been rumored that the game types from Battlefield 2 will be ported into Bad Company later is releiving and has me loving my Bad company copy lots.

With a the Battlefield 2 game types being ported I doubt this game would be tiresome, so don't put it down just yet. Also the story itself in the game is not bad at all, it's a humourous story which is held back by the games generic game play and should not be looked down upon, try it out. This game comes in two versions, the Golden Edition or normal. Myself I picked up the normal copy but if you want the unlockable weapons in multiplayer and a little bit of extra content then an extra ten dollars wouldnt harm you. This game is great, there are alot of other games you should pick up before this one though, but I'm definatly not telling you to pass this great game up.

Unleash havoc on the battlefield like never before. 0

In late 2006, Electronic Arts released Battlefield 2142 on the PC to relative success. Two years later, the Battlefield series came to consoles with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company. In Bad Company, you'll be utilizing Dice's new Frostbite engine to destroy your way through a somewhat short single-player and an addicting multiplayer experience. Though Bad Company is quite different from its Battlefield cousins in both story and presentation, minus a few small annoyances, it's a great shoo...

Wanna blow stuff up? Get Bad Company. 0

If I wanted to make this review short and sweet, I'd probably just say "If you like blowing stuff up and killing a bunch of people while doing it, then Battlefield Bad Company is the game for you." But since I like to add a bit of professionalism to my reviews, I'll delve a bit more into the game and give you a more enlightened point of view on this first-person shooter. Battlefield Bad Company comes from developer EA DICE and publisher Electronic Arts and chronicles the adventures of B-Company...
