Just...what the fuck, seriously? They butchered this game. This is what you get when you give the port job to the SEGA B-team.

Bayonetta is a "non-stop action game" from PlatinumGames. The titular character is a witch who can use hair-based magic, as well as firearms attached to her feet, to battle fallen angels and other foes.
Bayonetta PS3 maybe one of the worst ports in a long time *pics*
I think we already established that the PS3 is the worse port. I blame the developer, not the console.
Yes, it was a well known fact. Though in motion its quite different, in stills it really shows out.
Still the biggest deciding factor here is stability, and the 360 won it flawlessly. No wonder though, considering that Platinum Games constantly said that Bayonetta was done for the 360.
Wow, that's pretty messed up. For what I assume is a Japanese development team, the 360 version being so much better looking is kinda bizarre.
A lesser port is one thing(longer load times, slightly lighter look or something is one thing), that is fucking mutilated. And I never was blaming the PS3. Sega fucked this one up." I think we already established that the PS3 is the worse port. I blame the developer, not the console. "

Perhaps Microsoft got tired of the scheme; paying exorbitant amounts of money for exclusivity since the contracted companies would most likely develop/port over the product to their rival companie(s) as soon as the contract ends. So in it's place, Microsoft pays for game to "look better" for their platform.
Thats just terrible, fuck Sega, and I didn't even want this game in the first place but for the people that did, thats just a let down.
" @DragoonKain1687 said:Its not that it was that bad, but in stills, it looks like crap. I have both demos, and on motion, its nothing like that, and the drops in fps are 9/10 of the times during cutscenes, or pre-scripted animations." @Metal_Mills said:Was it really THAT bad? But still, both games suck on the PS3 because they were not developed FOR it. Unlike other games that are developed on both consoles, this 2 were done on 360 then ported. Thats why we get the same kind of differences that we used to get in early ports.
Its not that it bothers me, since I have both consoles, and I love them both equally, but what bothers me, is that it is just like putting of a fire with Kerosene as forums goes. Thats all.
Shouldnt we be blaming Paltinum for Shoving it over to SEGA because they knew they were incompetant of making the PS3 version the same?
The development team being Japanese doesn't mean anything. The PS3 is just harder to program for, especially if you're programming a port that was originally designed for the 360. And while those comparisons looks pretty definitive, I know people who have played through both the PS3 and 360 versions and have said that while the 360 version is definitely superior, the PS3 version is still quite playable." Wow, that's pretty messed up. For what I assume is a Japanese development team, the 360 version being so much better looking is kinda bizarre. "
Awesome, so I am not getting Bayonetta. I can look past the graphics, but a shitty framerate in a game that consists of batshit crazy action - no.
Also, it doesn't seem like the case with the first Assassin's Creed, when everyone shouted how the PS3 sucks and it was only because duders forgot to change color saturation.
" Shouldnt we be blaming Paltinum for Shoving it over to SEGA because they knew they were incompetant of making the PS3 version the same? "SEGA is the publisher. Which means they basically own the game and everything associated with it.
So no, we should not be blaming Platinum Games.
Of course all this comes from some French website so I don't know how valid it is.
" @Raven_Sword said:nope. SONY is going to help them do it for them.." Well, rumor has it SONY is going to clean up the PS3 version for America. "You mean SEGA, right? "
" I blame Sony. Ghostbusters, Bioshock, Bayonetta, Unreal Tournament 3, I mean...seriously...what did you people actually EXPECT? "you've got a point... The PS3 can do great graphics, but it seems like if it's a port it all falls to shit.
Dont care about the game but this is really really terrible. Dont understand how this could happen. Would not get a multiplatform game on the PS3 anyway, but we should demand equal representation on the consoles. The textures are just blurry. Looks like the game is running on the Wii.
" I think we already established that the PS3 is the worse port. I blame the developer, not the console. This is new news.. theres an article around somehwere.. but.. well you know.

In 95% of game development the publisher does the funding and has almost all of the power. In this case the publisher is Sega, so the actual developer (Platinum Games) probably had little to no control over who ported it and how much time and effort was put in.
So the guys at DigitalFoundry did a thorough comparison of the full version and...
The PS3 version as released in JP is bad... really bad
For Xbox 360 owners perhaps feeling a bit bereft of state-of-the-art first-party gaming love this year, Bayonetta is like manna from heaven, and is well worth the plaudits . Its core technological and design philosophy favours Xbox 360 to such a degree that it puts a fair few first-party releases to shame. In places, it's absolutely epic. Go get it.
" @Xeiphyer said:Yeah sorry haha, I was hoping somebody would just post a link to the topic, since I was in class I didn't want to go browsing flashy looking videogame sites for the article, anyways, I did find it now. The story is that Sony is pressuring sega and platinum games to fix bayonetta before the launch, which is good news." @eroticfishcake said:Who is "they" and "them" in this statement? I wouldn't mind buying it on ps3 as long as they make it equal to the xbox version, of course if they don't I wont give a second thought to getting it on the 360. My only reasoning is that I haven't gotten a game on ps3 in a while =P Plus bayonetta looks really nice and my ps3 has the good expensive HDMI while my 360 has the microsoft provided one =x

Hahaha yeah, I tried to photoshop it, but it was really tricky to do properly haha. Also I didn't respond till now cuz she was sitting beside me lol. I might buy her a christmas shirt or bra and change it to that =P but I dunno if I want to spend money haha.
" @Raven_Sword said:Actually, yes. We should blame Platinum Games because THEY should've been the ones developing the PS3 version. They tossed the PS3 version to Sega at the end to say 'you guys do it' and the results have been poor because they didn't do it in house, and I guarantee you that if it doesn't sell (which by all counts it won't) guess who's going to close down for not trying to make the best game possible on all platforms the game is coming to? So i guess you work for SEGA or PG since you can claim that this was exactly how it went down, right?" @august said:

PG just made the game, exploiting the 360 architecture to the fullest while doing so, and then when they finished it they just went "Hey SEGA, port this to the PS3. We'd like to do it but just can't be bothered, you know?"
No. It's becoming clear that this game was made specifically to take advantage of the 360 hardware. The guys at PG aren't exactly newbies, if they had intended this game as a multi-plat from the start they wouldn't have made the game so tailored to the 360 architecture. This is all on SEGA coming in and pressuring to go multi-plat.
