Overview
Beast Busters is a horror-themed on-rails fixed-gun shooter developed and released by SNK for arcades in 1989.
Using the same hardware and gameplay mechanics as SNK's other fixed-gun shooter Mechanized Attack, Beast Busters pits three survivors (Johnny Justice, Paul Patriot, and Sammy Stately) against an endless army of zombies, mutants, and other monsters. The game uses a special Uzi-shaped controller with an additional button at the top for explosive weapons.
It was ported by Images Design (and released by Activision) for the Amiga and Atari ST in 1990, and later received a 1998 sequel (Beast Busters: Second Nightmare) and two spin-offs (the handheld action RPG Dark Arms: Beast Buster 1999 and mobile on-rails shooter Beast Busters Featuring KoF).
