Local Boyes Makes Good
At this point, you've almost certainly encountered Adam Boyes on or around Giant Bomb. When he's not paying the Giant Bomb community to design his Christmas cards, he's popping up in various videos or podcasts from time to time to lend his special brand of expertise. It's led to a few questions, like "what the hell does that guy do?" Today, we have at least a partial answer.
Adam's company, Beefy Media, has teamed up with The Weinstein Company to turn the production company's film and television properties into games. Specifically, Beefy will "oversee all production aspects of the games."
But which properties are actually being turned into games? That part's apparently still a secret. The studio is currently working on Spy Kids 4, Scream 4, a Fraggle Rock movie, and upcoming pictures with great names like Submarine, Dirty Girl, and Butter. So maybe some of those will end up in some kind of interactive format at some point? I would totally play a submarine game called Submarine. Heck, I would play any game called Butter.
We'll start drunk dialing Adam in the middle of the night until we get some hard answers out of him.

Now would be the perfect time to pitch the Lincoln Force movie to the Weinsteins. Though with The Lincoln Lawyer, the Lincoln assassination movie and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Hollywood may be all Lincolned out!
@Nemuel: With it comes the incredible back catalog as well. The Dimension Films label has an incredible repertoire of IPs in it, and we're excited to dig in.
@ErrorOperator: If we don't you all can fire me.
Yeah, this is great news. If anyone can help make decent movie tie-ins, it's Adam Boyes.
One thing made me laugh when I first saw the story here, was a quote from Adam:
I can totally imagine Adam just saying something along the lines of "The Weinstein Company is the shit!!" and then some PR guy extrapolating it into that long ass quote."The Weinstein Company is an incredible entertainment company, and I share their vision for creating very high quality content for the marketplace,” said Boyes. “We plan to combine our extensive video game developer relationships with the impressive catalogue of properties to create and produce content made by gamers for gamers.”
like every fucking game studio that has ever made a movie based game have said that and most of them suck ass
might be decent but it will not be as good as x-men origins wolverine
@Alphazero: That was unrelated as that was in regards to app development. We're in pretty tight with a lot of mobile game companies, but nothing to talk about yet ;)
@heatDrive88: No fucking joke - I pitched that in my first meeting with them. They weren't gamers. It almost made me lose the deal ;) but I'll still push for it.
Goddamn, why am I not in the games making business?
[edit] On second thought, fuck yeah From Dusk till Dawn. Co-op Clooney and Tarantino busting up vampires? More Danny Trejo? Sign me up.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Richard Ayoade, the director of Submarine has said there are no submarines in the film.
I saw Submarine last week and loved it but I'm sorry to say Jeff that it's a quirky coming of age comedy-drama set in Wales containing absolutely no underwater combat. Its not really video game material but who knows what Boyes can do with a virtual Paddy Considine.
The original image is even better than the one Jeff used for this article:
