    Bejeweled 3

Game » consists of 7 releases. Released Dec 07, 2010

The third and final main installment of PopCap's signature match-three series, featuring an updated Special Gem system and a variety of new game modes and mini-games.

This is the greatest game I have ever played.

Let me get this out of the way - I fucking love this game. Apart from the lack of leaderboards, I don't really see how they could evolve the 'match-3' concept from here. Hell, I'm just surprised that there was this big of a leap in quality from Bejeweled 2 to Bejeweled 3. If you haven't bought it already (you probably haven't), it's $19.99 on Steam. I was put-off by the price at first, but I've definitely gotten my moneys worth.

Any other Bejeweled fans out there? There has got to be at least one other Giant Bomb Bejeweler, I know I'm not the only one!

Every 'hardcore gamer' I know, which are quite a lot, is suddenly addicted to this...thing.

    For shame.

Have you even played it? The new game modes, ridiculously vibrant sounds and music and achievements + leveling make it totally worth the money.

Same could be said about any game, really - just change "flash game" to any other derisive term =/

It definitely is, and it's getting some proper reviews with great scores (IGN, Destructoid). I understand why people write it off because 'lol casuals I'm too hardcore' and 'It's just Bejeweled', but every person I've talked to who has actually played it is just as addicted as I am.

I regret paying 18 dollars for it. It's a good game. But 18 dollars...

I'm all over puzzle quest 2 and I just love everything about it. The music and the item collection combined with the colorful gem board is a joy to play. I'm taking a look at this later for sure.

Also loving it so far.  The treasure digging mode will be the death of me - I can't seem to beat the high score and it seems really luck based in trying to get matches down at the bottom.  I was one match away from beating 300k on it yesterday and to resist throwing a mouse.  Otherwise I've gotten through the Quest mode and really enjoy the Butterfly mode.  Lightning/Ice Storm are freaking nerve wracking though.  Don't know how you could call either of those "casual".

Still baffled by the lack of Steam achievements and friend/online leaderboards.  It's like they've adopted the "casual" label to the point that they don't feel they need to bring out the conventions that normal gamers love.

It...it has levelling? 0_0 Fucking hell Infinity Ward, this is what you started with CoD4. Still, can't say I'm interested, nothing to do with it being a 'casual game', a term that frankly pisses me off, I've just never really cared for that classic 'Match some coloured things to make other things appear' formula, aside from in Bust-a-Move 2. Good luck to anyone who enjoys it though, great to see they've actually added so much and somehow made such a meaty game from the simplest of concepts.

As far as the price goes, I'd agree if it weren't for the fact that I've gotten a couple hundred hours out of Bejeweled 2, which is far more than I can say about most games that I paid a lot more for.

needs to be cheaper.  then i'd consider it.  20 bucks is a lot for match 3.

This is a great game but it does kinda suck that their are no online leaderboards. I beat the scores they have already and I want to measure my matching 3 skills against others. My current Poker record is 811,850. Anyone out there beaten that?

    You are definitely not alone.

I completed the Quest mode today and have been chipping away at the other modes in order to collect some medals. Great game. I'm tempted by Puzzle Quest 2 now.

As Jeff Greene has quoted on the Bombcast

"I would rather match 3 jewels than play any other game"

Well, so I think he said that.

Considering Popcap couldn't be bothered to fix a major bug in Bejeweled 2 that erased my Endless Game progress twice, they can suck a dick for all I care.

I actually sent an email to them about it and they basically said "Yea, that sucks.  We don't fix this game anymore."

That is quite the bump you did there my friend.

Try the trial of the game. It lets you play the full game for like an hour. I loved it personally but I couldn't justify paying 20 bucks for it. If it was 10 I would have bought it a long time ago.
