Beyond Good & Evil 2 Won't Be Out For A While
it sounds like they are developing a game with real morals behind their process which i can respect, just like duke nukem forever, which i too think will come out in the next few years due to all the footage that's been out lately, but that's another story. if a game takes time to be made i have no problem, as long as the game is worth the time taken. (ie. not final fantasy xiii taking 5 or 6 years, but most other final fantasy's, yes.)
I don't agree that the game should have a small team working on it. If you ask me it's cost cutting. I'm glad that the game is still in the works as I was worried before but I've only got so much patience. Hopefully it doesn't come out when the next generation consoles arrive.
That's alright, I'll wait as long as necessary to get the sequel I want most. Take your time and do it right.
Man I don't even remember how the original BG&E ended...
...Actually I sorta do but I didn't really get it the first time. Damn that final boss for conveying important plot information during the actual final battle.
If I didn't have a million games piling up I could probably go and replay it. Oh well, sounds like there would be time for that before the sequel is out anyway.
" @Cold_Wolven said:Cost cutting in that sense is canceled out by the very fact they expect it to be in development longer. "I don't agree that the game should have a small team working on it. If you ask me it's cost cutting.
True but at the same time if feels like development is being put on the back burner so Ubisoft can allocate more money and man power to other teams to get their big AAA games out every year. So in the short run it's cost cutting.
Well, at least he's not telling us that it can't get cancelled because technically it hasn't been announced yet.
can someone splain to me what made the first game so great? People talk about the first game in such hushed tones, but no one has said the definitive "it is good because"
As long as there aren't any automated turrets that cause me to instantly die and have to restart my progress I'm looking forward to the next Beyond Good and Evil game. Man the first one was a game I respected but felt like gameplay didn't match up to the great story and characters.
I'm beginning to get the impression that beyond good & evil 2 is one of those games that has an announcement trailer and nothing's actually been created in the background.
**Cough**Duke Nukem!**Cough**
This is actually some good news:
Ancel has a small team on BG&E2, purposefully, in an attempt to keep the game from becoming a "commercial product," and to use it as a flagship for new set of 3D dev tools similar to the 2D ones being used by a five-man team on Rayman Origins. Speaking to the former point: "On this game, we're keeping the team small," Ancel said in French, according to a translation provided via Eurogamer, "to preserve creativity and so the game doesn't become a commercial product; so that it has a soul."
I shall reserve a spot on my shelf for this game. until then, bo staff combos and cd-launching wristband, adieu.
