After rumors of the game being canned, it's finally be confirmed the game has been put on hold. Why did they even announce it if it was this shaky in the first place?

I can't say I feel all that bad about it. I never expected it to come out. Even after that teaser was revealed, I never really expected it to come out. Regardless of how good the original was, it just didn't sell, and I don't see how in this economic climate someone could justify sinking money into a franchise that has thus far been unprofitable.

Gamespot contracted Ubisoft who called shit on this...

The French publisher said today that the development is "on track" and that there was "no break".
