Moving Platforms Platforms conviently moving you towards your destination to allow the crossing of large expanses which would otherwise be impossible to cross. |

Hit Points An indication of the amount of damage a character can sustain in game. The loss of all hit points results in the players death, or penalty. |

Hack and Slash RPG games that focus more on the action rather than telling a deep story. This term can also refer to action games which focus on hack and slash gameplay. |

Glitch A glitch is an action performed within the bounds of a game engine that was not intended by the game's developers. Glitches are often performed by the player, though they can also occur independently. |

Giant Enemy Crab A historically accurate enemy native to the Japanese coast. Flip it and attack the weak spot to inflict MASSIVE DAMAGE. |

Possession You take control of another object or person to accomplish tasks you couldn't do normally. |

Warping Warping allows the player to take a shortcut, bypassing part of a game. |

|
Pit A place to fall, often bottomless, usually resulting in death. |

Puzzles These games test not only your reaction speed, but also your problem-solving skills. Often, puzzles will need to be solved before the player can progress to the next portion of the level or game. |

Secret Area A Secret area is a place hidden that few will find unless they know where to look. |

Ultimate Weapon There is always one. The huge gun found near the end of the game that kills everything in one hit but contains nearly no ammunition. |

Special Attack Featured mainly in fighting games, special attacks usually require more than just pressing a button to activate. They are usually unique or at least varied between characters. |

Fire In many games, fire is used as a means to clear paths, use as a weapon, or just as a threat to your character. |

Death The main line of distinction between victory or failure in video games. |

Crouch Jump Crouch Jumping is a first person shooter "skill" where the character "crouches" in mid-jump in order to hurdle an obstacle or reach higher ground. |

Final Boss The last boss you face in a game, usually representing the final climax of the game. |

Bosses Video game bosses are usually the main antagonist, and arch nemesis of the main protagonist. In most cases the end of a game is when the main character defeats the final boss. |

Zombie A term used to describe the undead. Usually it takes one good blow to the head to get rid of them. Their diet consists mostly of brains. Fresh brains. Usualy very slow- but deadly in bigger numbers. |

Boss Fight A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists. |

Jump It's arguably the one move that symbolizes the medium to those outside it. The ability to jump, be it onto building, onto platforms, or onto skulls, is one of the all time most important abilities ever put in a video game. |
