instead of wasting time on making multiplayer, why not try to completely top the original's incredible single player. Also, Co-op sounds awful too because who wants the story and level design to revolve around to players. god i hope it turns out incredible though.

If the co-op is implemented to work within the story then I'm happy with it. If its tacked on I'll leave it, frankly.

I really hope they know what they are doing. If the single player suffers just because they wanted to stuff in a multiplayer mode...I'm going to be pissed. I am going to hope that 2K knows what they are doing.

Yeah, I think it should be single player only. I'm just afraid this'll be like RE5... RE4's single player was incredible, but RE5's is horrible. I don't want to see that happening to Bioshock.

I wouldn't have a problem with it being single player only, I just hope if they were to add a multiplayer mode, they don't butcher it.

I think that people need to lay off the Bioshock 2 hate and realize that it's a sequel to a game that...generally...everyone LIKED!

Then again, I think people also need to realize that 2K Marin DOES have members of the original Bioshock team!

I'm fine with it having multiplayer so long as the shooting is made more fun. Imagining multiplayer in the first makes it seem boring, unless there were great game modes. Deathmatch wouldn't cut it at all.

I just don't have high hopes for this game and yes, multi-player Bioshock just doesn't sound right to me. I just don't know about the story. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

I didn't think the gameplay in the original Bioshock was that good, so if they're going to have competitive multiplayer they're going to have to totally change it up.

I really don't care as long as the single-player is as good as the first.

I don't mind it having Multiplayer as long as it doesn't involve the story. Such as no co-op and keep the campaign SINGLEPLAYER! Competitive MP would be fun if they could pull it off correctly and as long as the singleplayer doesn't suffer. Capture the Little Sister anyone?

Bioshock created a world where the more you explore, the more you are rewarded with the history of rapture, loot, and a sense of immersion. With co-op, the designers will have to make everything more focused on combat and maybe puzzles-and this is not what bioshock is about. I do not think that multiplayer is the greatest idea for bioshock- However good it may be, Bioshock is about immersion, not competition. It seems however that Sea of Dreams will have multiplayer and if it doesent effect the single player then no harm really. Perhaps having co-op scenarios like the PS3 Biohock DLC would be better. This way the core gameplay and experience of the single player is left intact, but a multiplayer itch can still be scratched without splitting the dev team to make multiplayer.

It should be single player only, no need for multiplayer since it wouldn't be able to compete with the big guns long term so it would be a waste

Yeah, I agree it should be single-player only. I'm more worried the game will throw in some kind of co-op for no reason other then to sell aswell :/

Although i hate the idea of multi player in bioshock a mode where one player controls a big daddy and has to protect a little sister while she collects adam whilst about 3-4 other players play as the mutant dudes and have to find a way to bring down the big daddy (ambush?) and kill the little sister would be pretty radical.

They implemented co-op (up to 4 players) in System Shock 2. It was included in a later patch however and didn't change the storyline. You could basically play the single player campaign but with friends. Myself and my flatmate played through SS2 co-op once, it was a fantastic experience. I feel that BioShock 2 could benefit from a co-op mode.

    Do an RE5.
Make multiplayer DLC for those who want it, don't destroy a awesome game.
But, if the can pull of Co-Op well, I'm all for it!

The problem with adding co-op to a game is that the singleplyer never plays quite so well because the game was made with co-op in mind.

The title should be changed to: "Does anybody not agree that this game should only be single player?"

Because anyone who thinks Bioshock should have MP just doesn't know what kind of game it is. Therefore they should be shot. No co-op. No capture the flag. No bullshit. Just Bioshock.

Meh. Bioshock was incredible, there's no way Bioshock 2 will ever be nearly as good as the original.

I'm really hoping that the multiplayer for this game works out alright. When I was playing the original Bioshock I felt the whole experience was much more entertaining as it was directly aimed at you, the player and you alone. As has been said here co-op could work if integrated properly with the story but I feel like there are lots of other games much better suited to multiplayer and that this whole multiplayer thing kind of breaks the atmosphere of the game and ruins the illusion a bit.

I always imagined Bioshock multiplayer to be something like VS in Left For dead where yer friends could randomly spawn in your single player game as one of the loonies and chase you down.

If the Multiplayer is good without compromising the single player, its just an added bonus.

They are going to need to do something different for me to really take notice as I am really only interested in the Single Player at this point. But hey if they want to add it and it won't effect the rest of the game I won't object.
