They honestly shouldn't have made a second game, they really shouldn't have. Unless they pull some sort of System Shock 2 story, I won't play it.

The plot sounds like a Steven Seagal movie. "They betrayed him and kidnapped his daughter after 7 years of hardship... and he's pissed! Steven Seagal is Jack Abbott in... BIOSHOCK 2: SEA OF DREAMS" Or something like that...

You have got to be kidding me. That is awful. Sure, it sounds cool that there will be an underwater zoo, but... that's a terrible plot.

Yeah, I'm not looking to this as much as before. I didn't like the design of the Big Sisters or the concept (they've just used the same boss but made them female) and I was hoping they'd got to a new location and not rely on Rapture as much.

Did you guys hear that some of the information several sites have quoted was shown to be from an unverified, uninformed message board post? Apparently sites have had to backpedal all day.

Hmm...seems the story has been updated to say that the rumors on the internet are just that:  rumors.

2K have made an official statement that in fact the Soviet/Robot/Zoo/Squid/Co-op/No Big Daddy RUMORS were in fact just rumors and are fake. And for gamers to truly know what Bioshock 2 holds they'll need to pick up the new Game Informer magazine..or wait for the online scans.

im on the 2K forums and they are blindly loving every piece of info that comes in even though its destroying the greatness of Bioshock

I agree the story is what drove me to play bioshock, so I am hoping the new story can pull me in the way the first one did.  If this game ends up being only sub-par then that will be a huge disappointment.

I have no hope left... I just can't look forward to this game anymore. I will still try it out when it comes out, but I just won't have any hope of it being up to par with the first game.

AGREED. That is why i'm hoping the dev's spend much more time focusing on the Story instead of drawing un-needed components into the game such a Co-op. The first Bioshock was a great success with just the level of immersion the player experienced, along with the atmosphere. And did not need a Co-op or Multiplayer element..why not the second!?"

Oh come on, if people actually played Bioshock just for the story, then they havent read many good books. Bioshock is one of the few first person games ive actually enjoyed, but it wasnt for its narrative. It was the presentation and aesthetics that drew me in, and I expect both will be present in Bioshock 2. Co-op and Multiplayer are probably unnecessairy, but no ones forcing you to use those modes. 

Looking back on this is quite hilarious. How did any of us actually believe this load of bullshit?

They had a wicked first game, so I'm sure they can deliver a second. I do have my doubts, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed tightly and keeping an optimist mind.

I am firmly in the camp that wishes Bioshock never got a sequel but here it is.

The facts are this...its in capable hands. The creative director is the guy who is responsible for arguably the most interesting part of Rapture. This isnt some rookie. The multiplayer is dumb, and the game wont be as good as Bioshock but itll be a firm B...a 4 out of 5...an 8.

The original thoughts of the plot might as well happen...the game is still going to be shit regardless. Bioshock 2 shouldn't exist.

I think they still have a chance to pull it off. We'll see.
I expect it to be good but not as good as the first.
