1) Yup - it mentions in the starting linked thread that the shots came from the pc with 360- pad support - and also a member of 2k took one look at the thread and thanked everyone for pointing out the 'downgraded' areas, assuring that the team are going right back and double checking everything and fixing anything they missed.

2)This may be an old build of the game

3) graphically its the same pretty much, just the ps3 has some weird ass blur effect going on which definitely needs to go

4) its a por,t come on- these things ever work right?

5) i have bioshock for the pc, i play at 1682x1050 resolution on very high settings - and whislt playing the demo on ps3, i myself happened ot think it was a downright decent job, Rpture still looked fantastic, as did the water, the effects and character models

I think 2K have dealt with this situation as best as they could. I mean - they've come out and said they're gonna check the game for any issues which is exactly what you want to hear.

Also - they must be pretty bummed that people are basically ruining the reputation of this release just two weeks before it hits. If that is a PC screen, running at the highest possible settings, compared to a PS3 screen which runs at medium resolution I believe (same as the 360) one, then they've got to be pretty gutted that some fanboy has ruined sales obviously just to make their console seem superior.

Having never experienced Bioshock on 360 (and given I don't own one) I'll be playing this game anyway. All I'll say is that when the GiantBomb team played it they mentioned on the Bombcast the game looks "identical to the 360 version and a inferior to the PC one" and also when it was reviewed in PSM3 UK Magazine they seemed to not have any issues with the graphics.

I guess we'll have to wait for other sources now but I wouldn't be too hasty just yet -- wait and see what both 2K and other respectable websites have to say.

I just can't understand 2K screwing up what is probably one of their biggest IP's. There are movies, books, etc coming for this game and they seem to have really put effort into hyping up what is essentially a port... why would they bother doing all that if they're going to put out a lazy release.

I say wait.

First of all those pics are taken from a DEMO! The demo isn't the final video quality of the actual game so I think we need to compare the proper screen shots here, Second, the washed out look is probably because the person who captured these images probably didn't even have their PS3's display settings set properly. FACT: The PS3 version is a port with slightly downgraded graphics.
FACT: The game still plays.

Just because he makes a thread stating that the PS3 port is inferior, after a 2K community manager even said so? As I said earlier, even if those were PC screenshots, the PS3 version has been stated to be inferior even by someone who works at 2K.

This is not about system wars, this is about the lack of quality in a port. If someone hasn't bought Bioshock yet and were interested in it, and have both systems, this has helped them come to a decision of which version to get. The game will still be great on the PS3, so if people only have a PS3, then they'll probably still enjoy the game. Some people will over-react and make a big deal about it, but at the end of the day Bioshock will still be a great game even if the textures are not on par with the 360 version.

Tbh i have both PS3 and 360, and games generally look and feel better on the xbox 360.

Except those few PS3 games that feel right, Like Formula 1 and tiger woods 09.

I've played the demo twice on my PS3 but i never noticed those messed up pixels.....I'm going for another run through the demo this afternoon but i still dont see how this makes the game a ''half-assed port''.....
