Game » consists of 1 releases. Released Oct 07, 2005

Are you good or evil? This is the question that Black and White 2 asks as it puts you in the shoes of a god.

Was it ever patched enough to be playable?

I have heard over and over that this game was so buggy that it wasn't recommended.

Did the patches ever clean up those problems and provide a stable game?

I remember buying this game in 06 to test out my Radeon X850 pro, that was a fun card. Last of the great AGPs...

Anyway, even then there was a 1.2 (I think?) patch that fixed most, if not all the issues I was having.

i haven't played it in forever, but i quite honestly don't have memories of huge bug issues. i loved it, for a while anyway, until i got bored of it. and i didn't even have an internet connection to download patches at the time. so, fucking play it, if you want. or something newer and probably much better.

I never had any problems with B&W2. Dunno what bugs you're talking about.

Make sure to install all the patches before playing, though. Saves aren't compatible across patches, which I found out the hard way.

I played it without any patches and it was absolutely fine for me, even on less than ideal hardware. Loved that game.

It's not that buggy. In fact I can't even think of any when I played through it a couple years ago.

Thanks for the comments. Perhaps some friends had exaggerated their issues.

I did play B&W I for a while after I posted and it really is a fun as I'd remembered.

Still have this sitting on my shelf. I remember not being thrilled about how much tutorial was in the game, but I was 15 when I bought this game so it could have just been me being stupid.

The original Black and White was a better game, they sort of scaled back a lot of the things you could do in the original to make for a more cohesive game in 2, which made me sad. But yeah, I never had any problems running it.

Black and White was broken as crap before and after being patched, for different reasons.

Not saying anything about the quality of the game. It's great.

Me either. I just didn't find the game that compelling outside of the creature itself so I got bored fast.
